http://www.theisozone.com/forum/viewtop ... 45&t=60545 in this topic though I am discussing or more like asking for help with getting this monitor fixed.
I have been meaning to get into modding older consoles to output in RGBS and then offer to sell. I picked up an older Sony Profeel monitor circa 1983 for free not too long ago and thought that it would be a perfect monitor to test my modified consoles on, since it can display in RGB and it is the predecessor to the Sony PVM's, but when I got the monitor home I noticed there was a problem. There are colours bleeding into the corners of the screen. Here are a couple pictures to show you what I mean.

Now I first tried to degauss the monitor using a cheaper degausser from China, but after trying for close to an hour and getting impatient the degausser melted and the picture was not fixed. Here are some pictures of the melted degausser.

So I started searching for what else could cause this problem and how to fix it, and I came across an interesting article talking about how this problem can occur when something called a "posistor", which is a type of resistor, dies. Here is a link to the article

I would like to check the degaussing coil itself as well make sure that it doesn't read as an open circuit, but first I need to located where the degaussing coil connector and where the posistor is located. Here are some pictures of the inside of the television.

I have not been able to find a service manual for this television yet, so I am not sure where the posistor is located. If you know more as to where it could be, please let me know. I found one part on a board on the right side of the chassis that might be the posistor. This is the board and part I am talking about RL101

If you could help me locate the degaussing coil connector and the posistor I would be very greatful. The problem might the tube itself, and in this case the television would be scraped, but I just want to exhaust all possibilities of fixing this thing before giving up on it, considering how expensive a large crt that can output in RGB usually costs. Thanks
