As stated in the subject, I've display issues with my Mimo Genius Box II freshly arrived: I get a distorted picture with wavy effects and colors messed up, looks like a sync problem or?
Here are the facts:
- Want to downscale my Cave shmups from 480p to 240p via the Mimo Genius box II
- Hooked my JP 360 with VGA cable 640x480 to the VGA input of the Mimo and the VGA output of the Mimo though the Sync strike to the scart switch hooked to the BVM 20F1U
- 360 set on 640 x 480 VGA
- Mimo set on #0 output resolution mode
- No external PSU used for the Sync strike, it's already powered by the... Mimo? Red led light is On when I turn on the 360.
- Tried to set on INT and EXT sync of the BVM: fail
Below the link to a picture I get:

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure how you're using the Sync Strike on this. The Sync Strike is a sync splitter, with a RGBs Scart input and a HD15 RGBs/HV output. Are you trying to use it the other way around ? The UMSA (or any RGB interface) would do the RGBHV to RGBs conversion you need.

Re: Need help with the Mimo Genius box II
I thought that the Sync strike would transform the VGA signal coming for the 360, through Mimo, to 15KHz signal via scart, i.e. conversion of the RGBHV signal to a RGBs signal as you said in your previous post).
So, I should have picked the UMSA instead of Sync Strike

Re: Need help with the Mimo Genius box II
My apologies for that. I assumed you meant the right one, when you said you were going from VGA out of the Mimo to the VGA in on the Arcadeforge one. I didn't dawn on me that you would feed an signal into the output side.
You can probably still use the Sync Strike if you got the right cables. Just put both sync signals on the Scart input pin (20) and use the H-Sync output on the HD15 side to your BVM's sync input. Or if you feel better, put a passic sync combiner circuit in front of the SS.

Not your fault.
Thanks for the help and the suggestions.
I prefer to order a UMSA unit as I'm not very good at tweaking cables. I can wait for 1-2 weeks for the UMSA. I'll let you know when I get the UMSA unit!

Re: Need help with the Mimo Genius box II
The main purpose of the UMSA is to combine H/V sync into composite sync and to provide a switching voltage for TVs that need it. Your PVM doesn't need that, so other solutions would work. BUT if you don't mind spending the money on the UMSA, it's certainly a clean solution. You can simply use the HD15 output on the Genius II and a standard VGA to VGA cable to connect it to the UMSA.

Sorry, I didn't see your message until today. I use the UMSA (no Sync strike needed as I thought and said in my original post) and 360 VGA cable. Works flawlessly.

Re: Need help with the Mimo Genius box II
I don't get that. Why do you use a Scart output from your 360 to the MIMO and how do you convince your 360 to give you 480p from a Scart connection ?
