I've seen first-hand the difference a high-quality scart cable can make when compared to cheap, low quality cable. As I'm hopefully about to own my first high-quality CRT, I wondered if I could ask you're advice. I have recently, all being well, purchased my first professional monitor for retro gaming, a Sony PVM 20M4E from 1999.
I'm very excited to get it setup and ready to go, my plan initially is to use my PAL Wii as an all-around oldschool gaming hub using Homebrew and various emulators, or perhaps just Retroarch.
I'm going to order a female scart to BNC cable from Retro Gaming Cables, so all that remains is the actual Wii scart lead.
Now, I own an official Nintendo Wii scart, which I bought when the Wii first came out. I've heard, however, that these are not considered to be the best quality. I'm also vaguely aware of the various sync-types which a PVM can accept, but I must say I don't understand them well.
I wanted to ask if you could recommend somewhere for me to purchase the highest quality Wii scart cable possible, and if you have any advice about the sync-type I should be looking for, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Your effort to remain what you are is what limits you.

Re: Best Wii Scart Cable?
I personally wouldn't use an RGB cable with a PAL Wii if you plan on playing US/Jap games on it. Without homebrew hacks to force PAL60, you wont be able to get RGB to work with those games and you'll end up with only red coming through (US games default to s-video in which the luma signal is sent down the red line)
I would highly recommend using a component cable if you can, but failing that, you'd have a much easier time using s-video.
