What sort of resolution of image would be ok for printing a poster which was only A4?
I bought a frame for something I have, thinking that it was A4, but it turns out it's not, it's an odd size. So now I have a frame and nothing to put in it and was thinking about having something printed.
Picture resolution for small poster, help
Re: Picture resolution for small poster, help
The highest res you can use/print is what you should try for. Something straight out of a camera (roughly 4K / 8 megapixel, but bigger is better) should be fine.

595 x 842 pixels @72 dpi? 2480 x 3508 @ 300 dpi...

Yes. when I was studying classic animation, 300 DPI was the sweet spot of nice-quality-without-ending-up-with-huge-ass-files that we used for our scans. Definitely what I'd recommend

I've just found out the picture I had already is US letter size. I had no idea such a thing existed.

America has the inability to follow worldwide standards. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to go run 4 tenths of a mile.Immryr wrote:I've just found out the picture I had already is US letter size. I had no idea such a thing existed.

Soviet Union had its own standards for "A4"and such (buildings, furniture...) too, that I'm sure stay alive in post-Soviet countries.
