Donato Dozzy Speaks to Synth Pioneer Suzanne Ciani

Not super new, but enough synth dorks around here to really get a kick out of this. In case you don't know Donato Dozzy has had the duty of closing out the Labyrinth festival in Japan for the last handful of years either by himself, or as half of Voices from the Lake (made up with his long time friend DJ Neel). Nothing short of amazing. In this article, he meets w/ synth pioneer Suzanne Ciani. Cool shit.

Oh, Ciani is cool. I believe she used buchla? For very melodic "new age" or how they call it.

Those videos from Red Bull Academy were nice to watch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFD72PXOmxA (seminar)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpMK-xpgIHk (interview)

Also Q/A session at GS forum was nice, Ciani replied questions sharing experience

p.s.
Sometimes i compare shmup community and modular synth community... Half-seriously, but still. arcades > consoles - modulars > fixed synths.

Oh, and both communities are rare examples where i encounter people keeping this hobby for 10+ years.

I keep getting very close to getting a proper (i.e. not cobbled together by me at Univ.) modular. I have the cash but I always end up feeling guilty.
anyway, where would we be without synths eh? I have this theory that we learn the most when we use synths as it sorts of brings things together. I love my Synths but I set an upper limit on only owning four :)

A friend on FB posted a meme ages ago which was something akin to, "My girlfriend is always like, 'oh, you'll get rid of one other synth since you bought a new one?'"
