S&P and Wild Guns on VC
Do Sin & Punishment and/or Wild Guns on Virtual Console support analogue Wiimote point & click controls (the way S&P2 does)? That would most likely make both easier than originally planned, but possibly all the more playable for it (see RE4 Wii Edition).
What gun games on MAME (or any other emulator) run well enough on a (modded) Wii to benefit from the console's primary control method?

Dunno about MAME games, but VC S&P and Wild Guns don't support the WiiMote pointer. Pretty sure it's just Duck Hunt and whatever other few Zapper/SuperScope games that might be on there, if any, that do.

This post gave me hope they do:mamboFoxtrot wrote:Dunno about MAME games, but VC S&P and Wild Guns don't support the WiiMote pointer.
...oh well.Getting into Wild Guns. I'm playing it using a Wii & originally tried it with a GameCube controller, which sucked. I swapped over to the Wiimote + nunchuck & redefined the controls a little. This way it feels like it plays easier than on an actual SNES.
I just read NES Operation Wolf (originally Zapper-enabled) doesn't.mamboFoxtrot wrote:Pretty sure it's just Duck Hunt and whatever other few Zapper/SuperScope games that might be on there, if any, that do.

Not sure if there's a better topic to put this in, but there appears to be some promising news afoot for Wild Guns fans.
Re: S&P and Wild Guns on VC
Not a VC game, but CutieQ on Namco Museum Megamix is controlled with the WiiMote pointer (and works surprisingly well). M2's Space Harrier for VC has a WiiMote control method where the WiiMote simulates the arcade analog stick.mamboFoxtrot wrote:Dunno about MAME games, but VC S&P and Wild Guns don't support the WiiMote pointer. ^ Yeah, I think I may have read something about VC Space Harrier before, though I've heard that playing it that way is kinda jittery.
This is literally the most random thing. Add that to the "I need a PS4" pile... assuming it doesn't turn out to be vaporware or shit.

Re: S&P and Wild Guns on VC
yeah. I usually play with the digital controls for Space Harrier, even though it does support the analog on classic controller. Not a fan of the auto center and it's just not the same with a small analog stick.

Wow, a new Wild Guns for PS4.according to US Gamer. That was unexpected.

I'm usually not excited for reviving dead franchises but... damn, this is exciting news.
Re: S&P and Wild Guns on VC
One of the best VC pointer enabled games is Namco's Star Blade. Just this last week I managed to get a wad working after running it through wwpacker. It's fantastic. Also worth a mention is Solvalou, similar control method but you have more influence on your direction, so not strictly a rail shooter. Both these were only released in Japan.
As far as I know wii mame doesn't support the pointer for lightgun games. It a shame no one has done a special version just for this. - if I had an ounce if technical know how I'd do it myself.
The Atari 7800 emulator does support the pointer for Crossbow. Not as good as it's mame version obviously, but still fun.
If anyone wants these send me a pm and I'll Dropbox them for you.

Re: S&P and Wild Guns on VC
was surprised there wasn't talk on here sooner (about wild guns reloaded). definite reason to get a ps4.
I don't recall being able to use the wii-mote for S&P on vc but I might be wrong. I just ended up using a gamecube controller, but I do agree that S&P:SS motion controls are very fluid and feel natural for the type of game it is. It's one of the only games I actually prefer using a wii-mote for.

So the Xbox One gets Raiden V, whereas PS4 gets the new Wild Guns... Liking what I read of Star Fox Zero, here's hoping they are taking this Reloaded controls someplace new.
P.S. My, some of the Star Fox Zero screenshots resemble Thunder Force V to me (it's not saying much, but I liked the latter's "2.5D" better than R-Type Delta's).
