Hello.
Just purchased a BVM 14F5U with a BKM 21D adapter. Unfortunately, I will need to upgrade the firmware on my 14F5U to accommodate it.
I noticed that the firmware is selling on the Sony pro site for at least $275! If I have to pay for it, so be it, but I was wondering if there were any other options/alternatives at my disposal to obtain this firmware upgrade. Did anyone else pay for their firmware, and if so, how was it/what can I expect from Sony?
Thanks!

Did you ever find the FW file to update your monitor?

Re: BVM 14F5U firmware
I was reading people talk about this the other day. If you have access to a chip programmer (which I think requires an old Pentium III type of machine running Windows 98 or something like that) you can program it onto the chip for free...hop on over to the Facebook "Sony PVM/BVM - Users of Sony Professional & Broadcast CRT Monitors", or "The CRT Collective" group. One of those were discussing this the other day and posted a link to the newer firmware. You might be able to just put it onto one of those old huge memory cards as well and don't have to flash a chip or anything extreme like that - I'm just not that familiar with this (but those guys on those groups are - so sign-up).
