Sony KV-M1400U - Help needed!

Post by Knight's_Gambit »

I still have my eye on this TV, however the seller has informed me that it does not come with a power cable which has me confused.

I have been told it works with a "Digibox" which I've never used before and has me even more confused.

I want to use it with game consoles - I believe it supports RGB SCART and I don't know if I can do this if it's connected to a Digibox.

Help desperately needed.

:? :? :?

The power cable has most likely been cut.

A digibox is a digital cable receiver that will plug into the scart socket.

So would it be able to connect to consoles or not?

Yes of course. It has a scart socket on the back.

Your bigger concern is the (possibly) cut power cable. If it doesn't have one, you're buying the monitor untested. Could be a dud for all you know.

Apparently the Digibox acts as a power cable, but with it plugged in I wouldn't be able to use it with consoles right?

I think I'll give this one a pass, thanks for helping

I had that TV as a kid! Its early to mid 90s I remember playing Sonic 2 and Ristar on Xmas 1995. I never knew about RGB or about picture settings back then. It developed a problem with turning itself off after 5 minutes, so it got chucked away, If I knew as much as I did now maybe it would have been fixable.

I only ever used RF and composite, and it couldn't do 60hz composite, and the sound was mono.

Your best bet is a late 90s - early 00s era black cased trinitron before they started using scan velocity modulation and 100hz.
