Sent first set of packets today morning, next set tomorrow. At this pace, the remaining lot gets posted by next Wednesday. There's still 10 orders waiting Paypal limit removal though, so hopefully it gets resolved by then.Mantrox wrote:Where's the beef, marq?
I bet you'll be able to get the audio add-on board and someone to install it at that price or less.Xyga wrote:EDIT: pasting that monoprice one again: http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=8124
It's half the price ($36/32€) of any other available option in Europe as far as I know, so it's not that more affordable ones don't exist, but we'd have to find a good similarly-priced product and source.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Hi,
Dont worry if this is hard/alot of hassle, but is there a way for us to know our place in the pre-order queue?
or even a rough batch number? (eg: 150-200)
thanks

Only if I manually look it up really and I don't want to start doing that if that's okay

Not a lot of time to test today, but I tested 480P from the TTX, and from the PC-Engine. I do not know how to take good pictures of screens but here is one I did.Mantrox wrote:Posts some pics! Post some Pics!

This is a solid piece of kit, the two modes I have tested work flawlessly!

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
I got mine too now and so far nothing but positive impressions. Testing my N64 (no clue which RGB mod), NESRGB and SNES 1-CHIP on a Panasonic plasma and a Eizo monitor.
Picture looks perfect, feels more responsive than the XRGB-mini and everything mostly works with minimal fiddling around (I had to change sync lpf for my csync NESRGB) in the very convenient menus.
Unfortunately haven't actually had time to test on my own TV yet
Nor have I had time to test my PS1, Dreamcast and component devices (PS2, Wii, Xbox).
Linetriple mode fails on the TV and works on the monitor, sort of what I expected.

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
So what's the status of SNES compatibility? still spotty or was there a change implemented?
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Unlucky! I've not yet personally tested a Panasonic set that won't do line triple. If you get a moment please do add your display to the compatibility list.Linetriple mode fails on the TV and works on the monitor, sort of what I expected.
There have been some changes to improve it, but still spotty I'm afraid. So what's the status of SNES compatibility? still spotty or was there a change implemented?

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Fair enough. I haven't bought in just yet, though I intend to. Hopefully the issues will be more completely diagnosed and work arounds discussed by then.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
never got the new newsletter yet. and that kinda sucks about SNES compatability (my primary system)
just curious, what's the price on this anyway?
thanks!

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
This is getting exciting, I was thinking of chaining this device with my XRGB Mini, but I may even put it on the backburner altogether fpr the time being. Looking forward to getting mine!
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Anyone use this with RBG's HAS supergun yet?

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
I got the newsletter just fine (gmail domain). Its definitely looking exciting even though the SNES is still not well supported. Will this need a sync stripper for the RGB in ? I find the price to be quite fair and it will also reduce the amount of different boxes I'm using at the moment.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Sync stripper should generally not be needed, though there may be edge cases where it helps.

Hi
Sorry to bother with pre-orders question but I've got one
I have fill the Google form for a complete unit in november, and i've got no news since (is that normal or do I've missed something)
Bucko do you know when you'll open pre-orders (I've already suscribe to your newsletter)
That's all folks

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
I appreciate it if anyone can test the OSSC with an Optoma HD3000 or Gefen VGA to DVI Scaler Plus.

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Once units are on the way to me I'll contact the first batch of folks on the mailing list.
Be sure to whitelist newsletter@videogameperfection.com
I'm not seeing any errors with the SMTP server, all but 2 of the newsletters it sent were delivered, so if the e-mails are not getting through it is likely to be something your side I'm afraid.
Frustrating that nobody has come up with a better system than e-mail after all this time...

Connecting it to the Gefen is a bit convoluted (analogue->digital->analogue->digital), not sure what you'd be hoping to achieve, just sharper scaling at the cost of input lag?I appreciate it if anyone can test the OSSC with an Optoma HD3000 or Gefen VGA to DVI Scaler Plus.

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Forgot about the D/A conversion, not an issue for me as I have an HDFury2. Just looking to fine tune the image and eliminate black bars without having to buy a DVDO processor. The Optoma's easily the superior choice here, but it may not play nice with the various signal options.
I'm not as lag obsessed as most of this board.

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
I would recommend you to get a free account at mailchimp. Mass emails sent through their system are usually delivered just fine. It's free for up to 2,000 subscribers.Frustrating that nobody has come up with a better system than e-mail after all this time..
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Mailchimp no longer have a free option unfortunately. I'm using Sendgrid, fully configured with domain whitelisting, SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM all in place, so yeah I've done pretty much everything my end to give the e-mails the best chance of being delivered.

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
I've seen the same trend on the e-mails I've sent. You can't mention many keywords related to ordering, payments etc. or a chunk of those messages will end up in filters. Also, sending multiple copies of the same message to a single domain has resulted to a few blocks.
Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
from the mailchimp website (right now): Free Plan / Forever Free / Up to 2,000 subscribers and 12,000 emails per month.
But of course Sendgrid should be fine as well

Re: DIY video digitizer & scandoubler
Mailchimp/Mandrill phased out their free SMTP service last month.
