A little help to fix a NES

Post by Ripthorn »

Ok guys, I just received a broken NES front loader.
This NES was a NTSC version converted to PAL-M, the previous owner removed the PAL-M crystal oscillator, but he removed the solder pads as well
So, what I want to know is if there is another place where I can solder the crystal oscillator

I appreciate any help.

As a last resort, you can scrape away some of the PCB to reveal the traces going from the oscillator. That's only if you can't figure out a better way.

Yeah... I thought about that, but I really do not want to resort to this method, only if it has no other way.

Considering the pads are gone you pretty much have no choice.
