Looking for a calibration DVD

Post by Turom »

Hi there,

I'd like to check the geometry and colors of my FE-2 trinitron CRT showed in this post, from my understanding the only way to do this is with a calibration DVD. Where can I get one? Any ISO available by chance?

Also if you have any tips or tutorial about how to use the DVD and how to calibrate the TV with it, please share!

Thanks!

You could also use the 240p test suite:

I have the Spears & Munsil HD Bench Mark 2nd Edition and it works great. It's usually regarded as one of the best calibration disc out there. Has just about every test pattern you can imagine. It comes with both a Blu Ray disc as well as a DVD disc. The DVD version is a lot lighter on content but should still get the job done. It comes with a blue filter for adjusting color and tint but no red or green.

Digital Video Essentials and Disney WOW are also popular choices. Some TV's have built in test patterns in the Service Menu. I would try that first.

If you just want to check Geometry and Colors, 240p test suite is not a bad way to go. Make sure you check the Geometry on both 240p and 480i/p as they are different.
