Explanation How about this:
We together make a list of games that can be 1cc-ed
We can have a 4 grades of difficulty:
Under each difficulty we can list several games and any shmupper can see how good he/she is if he/she can complete a game under that difficulty.
So let's start off with the easiest child. Everyone should start with a game that can be 1cc'd the easiest. At this point a member deserves the rank child, etc.
Let's try to keep the titles as mainstream as possible: yet both old scholl and new school titles.
Just copy and past from previous posts and alter the titles. Perhaps this is too hard to do in a forum, but perhaps other shmembers have better suggestions
Please have reasonable rankings.
No show offs like: "I one lifed DDP DOJ so it's easy"
Also the ranking is supposed to be as opposed to each other.
For some all shmups are hard, and for some perhaps all are easy.
Perhaps this thread can be stickied in the future and taken over by someone else with more knowledge.
Good luck, you're doing great

the shmups i 1cc'd in a day was shenryu explosion/double shenryu. a good test of your reflexes and more difficult if you play for score, but on defaults it's a sinch. that's got to be a child rating.
i'm really interested in this actually as i only have that game and last night's Arrow Flash under my belt and i'm interested in 1ccing a shed load of older games as practise for later mroe intense ones.
Anyway the easiest shmup to 1cc on default difficulty has got to be Thunder Force III IMO. You almost have to try not to 1cc it. It may be a good idea to have another rank or two as well, since for example I can think of a few games that I would consider 'medium' -- Imperishable Night comes to mind -- that are definitely easier than other games that are also pretty 'medium'. Or perhaps there should be an 'expert' rank -- I think DDP DOJ would fall into that category.
We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
Shiki II and Thunder Force III should switch places. I wouldn't really consider it "easy", though. In fact, I'd say they are "medium", but then we would need another category above "hard". Put DOJ, Mars Matrix and Gunbird 2 in the "very hard" section category, I'd suggest.
Very few here seem to have managed to 1CC Battle Garegga, so methinks that'd deserve an entry in the "Hard" or "Very Hard" category...Radiant Silvergun might be someplace up there too. Then, of course, there's Mushi's Ultra mode, which probably ought to be in a class by itself, heh heh.
One thing that hasn't been taken into account much, I've noticed, is that some games become much more difficult if you play them for score rather than just for the 1CC...Psyvariar 2's a pretty good example. Blast everything without worrying about buzzing and you can beat the "regular" 5 stages without too much trouble: try to raise your levels high enough to get to the secret 6th level, that's a whole new ballgame.
Yesterday I obtained Power Strike for SMS and it seems to be a lot harder than Zanac. I haven't been able to finish it yet.
I'm thinking DoDonPachi and Radiant Silvergun would qualify in the Hard and Very Hard categories, respectively. Or am I off base? I've played both of those recently enough to remember something about the difficulty level, no 1CC though, needless to say.
How about 1943 NES? I've finished that with the ol' NES Advantage but with a standard controller (no turbo) it would be a lot harder.
