Never was a fan of country music, but he was a guy I didn't mind listening to his stuff. He wasn't the average "wife left me for my dog, and my house ran away type of guy". His music usually had some kind of message with it.

Indeed. I have some of his records here (inherited from my dad).They are very accessible... from a time when cuntry music was actually good.

It is highly unlikely he died just form the flu though at 57 - that is no real age these days at all.

I remember hearing that his knees and hips were in desperate need of surgery but he refused on account of the whole Jehovah's Witness prohibition against blood transfusions.

Likely his body was in way worse shape than his age would indicate.

TMZ is reporting it was a drug overdose, but I have my doubts about that because it's TMZ, and also because he was a JW. Hell he was a Vegan and a teetotaler to boot.

My mom was pretty upset by Prince dying, oddly enough. He became a Jehovah's Witness, later in life, and that's what my mom is. So, they had some kind of spiritual connection

Sucks he died though. Way too young.
