Eventually the 130,000 bare pcb Akai Katana board at Sophia will sell, as well as the crapped out kit at G-Front for 140,000 yen.
Thank you very fkn' much ST vvvvvvvvv!!! I don't condone violence, but you would think that one of the pcb shops had a yakuza/yanki guy to deal w/ this shit.
Price is low now, btw. :/ , for now..........

Yes that is where this trend is going. If you ever wanted something moderately rare good luck affording it now. It's not just STV though. All the "retro game collectors" have recently discovered how easy and cheap it is to find and own a supergun so all of the classic arcade hardware is in such high demand the prices will keep increasing as many games are in short supply.
Also I have to ask what you ever thought was going to happen? Dodonpachi PCBs just stay at $400 forever? More people discover a niche genre, old boards die, collectors who never sell, shelf queens in le France, etc. The only direction is up unfortunately. STV certainly gave that a huge Jumpstart but it was happening before he started up his business. For a while he was selling on this forum and some of the biggest haters in the STV topic were actually buying from him.

Pretty sure that's how they were originally sourced.Strikers1945guy wrote: Are those the not for sale ones that people steal from the arcades?
Are the ashtrays even in Taito's HEY/Game Station arcades anymore?
I would of thought that if the case is that the arcades may have banned smoking inside, that the ashtrays may have been given away or thrown out, and later "found."
Anyways, like the rare pcbs, perhaps these rare ashtrays will skyrocket in value based on their historical significance.

That's exactly it. People act like he's buying his own shit. STV certainly helped fuck up the market but he couldn't have done it without us. If we didn't buy, him and his ilk would have walked away a long time aga.Strikers1945guy wrote:Yes that is where this trend is going.
