You shouldn't be running a recently discontinued operating system, at least with it connected to the internet.

I'm also using XP (I don't need to change it) and I'm dissapointed the game wont work. It's a shame, because I don't see any reason for a game like this to need Vista or Windows 7. This is the second dissapointment with this developer after the atrocious control system in Steel Strider.

Played the demo, kinda boring score system. Having two different shot option ships is pretty nice.

Don't like the enemy design too, need more variations.
3rd Strike is the best fighting game.

So it seems the game is out now. There's a link on the page in the first post to this but I'm not too familiar with the site. I guess if it's the only way to buy the game at the moment it must be kinda trustworthy? Does anyone else know about this site?

DLSite is trustworthy. They're used by tons of doujin artists and developers.

Has anyone else played the full version? The apparent ending and credits roll after Stage 10, but the game's files indicate that there is a Stage 11, so I am curious to know if there is a hidden stage or TLB or something. Does anyone know?

What difficulty did you play the game on? I don't have the full version of Wolflame myself, but Astro Port's games pretty much always have a TLB when played on harder difficulties.

Ah, I just played it on Normal so that might be the key, if there really is anything beyond Stage 10. I tried to look for videos of runs on higher difficulties, but no luck. Maybe one day I'll get there and find out.

Just tried the demo and was wondering why I should play this if I can play Raiden games. There is very little different from those games I feel. Not really bringing much new to the table, apart from the powerup system which is kinda neat, but not enough for me to fork over money for this.

How about asking if they'll fix the music loop issues (ie stage 1 music fading out and then looping)? That reeks of amateur audio design issues, and wasn't an issue with Satazius. Bit picky I know, but when it's like $40+ AUD to get this off rancors shop and wait 4 weeks or pay 60 for EMS to have a game with such poor QA in that department it makes the purchase difficult to justify.

Yeah, the audio in stage 1 is pretty weird. Also I had to edit the screen config file and change it to 0011 (just first thing that came to mind) to get the demo to work. Initially it was just a black screen and then minimised itself and did not want to be maximised again. Some really weird stuff.

There's Yakouga 4 http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 0&start=0/.
nimitz wrote:bump, this game is great. (even though im not a fan of the whole schoolgirl theme). And it's not freeware by the way.

the first 2 levels are easy, but then it starts getting pretty fast.

the game is as close to a Raizing game you can get. Medal chaining, options, manic gameplay, make bombs by collecting many small items, extend every 1 million points.

I know other artesneit games like galaxy hero have crazy rank (Raizing style) but I'm not sure about this one.

How clean is the clean version? Sounds interesting but I like to keep the shameful material on my PC to a minimum.

I also wonder if it works well on windows 8. People mentioned issues with 7, even with XP compatibility on.

In the all-ages version, the bosses don't lose their underwear, there are no pornographic images between the stages, and the toggle to turn this content on or off has been disabled. The skimpy outfits remain though, and some of the monsters in the tail end of the game have exposed breasts.

As for compatibility, it works fine for me on Vista, but I can't speak for Windows 8. I guess you could try the demo and see if it gives you any problems.

Just tried Yakouga 4 and the gameplay is OK imo. But one thing I noticed in both Wolflame and Yakouga 4 is the quite big amount of horizontal scrolling. Too much for my liking. IMO the amount that has proven to be good is the same as the height of the playarea. So 320 pixels in a 240x320 game. Maybe that's just me.

Sweet! I voted it up. The sprite-work looks to be of a higher caliber than one would typically find in an Astro Port game.

None of the past Astro Port entries on Steam indicate Mac support, despite external web sites occasionally reporting OS X support.

Edit: Seems the Steam release is targeted for 2016-04-21 20:00 UTC / 2016-04-21 21:00 London UK / 2016-04-22 05:00 Tokyo Japan

Wow, that's the first time I've seen something like that. Very strange, once you've ported/compiled a game to run under linux you're generally good to go on Mac as well as you're probably relying on the OpenGL/SDL frameworks.

Oh well.

Mac version, thx.
