Not sure if this belongs here, but it looks pretty interesting.

Does this count as shmup? (otherwise feel free to move this thread to offtopic)

Mod Edit: Yeah, to be safe I'll send it that-a-way.

Is it some kind of Binding of Isaac with more bullets and faster gameplay ?

I'd say it's a mix between Binding of Isaac, Nuclear Throne and a dungeon crawler like Diablo.

Bought this game on release after I saw it being advertised on GOG for pre-ordering.

I was expecting a Nuclear Throne copy, but the game stands up on its own. The action is somewhat slower due to the additional mechanics involved; more emphasis on duck-and-cover techniques (read: table flipping and pillar humping), line-of-sight shootouts and Shock Troopers-style dodge rolls to evade everything from pitfalls to waves of fire.

I have yet to figure out how weapon unlocking works via the store that opens when you rescue the girl and her robot buddy.

This game is rad! Got me all nostalgic for Engage to Jabberwock. My friend was kinda getting pissed because I would not shut up about it. Haha.

I've not gotten very far into it, just 3 bosses or so, but I'm looking forward to proceeding.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Because The Binding of Isaac is the only procedural dungeon crawler that exists.

Seriously, though. That's a little bit needlessly reductive. It's like if someone said "So it's Touhou but with ships and no spellcards?" upon seeing Samidare.

You buy the item, and it's unlocked for future runs. They tell you right in the shop when you talk to them. It's not that complicated.

Anyway, I love this game! It's just as fun to watch as it is to play! I feel like it's going to take me forever to unlock everything. I'm kinda in the middle of several different things at once.

I figured it out after a run. The dialogue became a bit obtuse at that point and the robot started talking about not knowing why he's acting as the shop owner for a little girl or something, so I probably missed it.

Currently in the process of unlocking the second floor elevator. The second fetch quest in that series is somewhat RNG-based (get 150 currency and 3 keys, all in 2 floors) but I managed to get past it.

Also,
Spoiler
there is a Gun Godz statue you can interact with to get the same buff as Y.V. by offering money.

I just defeated the TLB. What an amazingly fun game. The only way this could get better is if online coop was added.

The layout is random, but the rooms themselves are premade with fixed spawns and all.

I want to like this, but so far I'm finding the actual shooting part feels a little.... limp. Doesn't have the big crunchy feel that a Smash TV or Total Carnage has.

I feel the same.
The fun of a run depends on the gun.
---because only a few guns make the moment to moment gameplay joyful.
