Um, Ibara is Type-X
Hahaha. Yeah right. Aside from Ibara being just a custom Jamma board, you can pick it up for $1200 new. You'd be lucky to pick up a Used Type-X for double that price. Type-X is totally 3D as well. Ibara is all Cave hand drawn sprites.

I don't own Ibara so I can't tell for sure, but CAVE uses a lot of Pre-Rendered sprites now, and I see a lot in the Ibara videos.

edit: I think Progear is the last CAVE game with any hand drawn sprites?

Metempsychosis literally means "transmigration of soul". Perhaps Shinra and Kagari are piloting ghost hitekkai and shooting mofos in the afterlife?

The idea of an Ikaruga sequel does seem farfeched.
Project RS3 - I'm sure - is going to be an indirect continuation, just like Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga.

The only relation they have is the Stone-Like object, strangely enough - the Stone-Like object seems to be the primary focus and the cause of things.
Ha.

Treasure has their very own Loc-nar.

Treasure's GBA Gunstar Super Heroes release date for JPN/USA

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

Treasure will release it's Japanese GBA title of Gunstar Super Heroes on October 6, 2005 for the Japanese gaming market.

Meanwhile, on October 26, 2005, will be the debut of the USA GBA version of Gunstar Super Heroes from Treasure, a long and eagerly awaited sequel to the original MegaDrive/Genesis Gunstar Heroes game.

valgar is correct, ibara is on a custom cave board, same as mushi. the only detail i can ever remember is that its sh-3 (hitachi cpu) based.

as for treasure, whenever they do rs-3, id expect it on lindbergh or maybe more likely, aurora, at least if it becomes successful. completely wild guesses of course, mainly just assuming aurora will be cheaper than lindbergh. or treasure could go insane with the graphics and need lindbergh, who knows.

Can someone scan this damn thing. We have seen one page and have figured out just from that, that Hiroshi Iuchi may be working on a new title.

supposedly this project will be on the XBOX 360?

I hope it's either a platformer or shooter.

someone find the Treasure room already

i figured any possible 3rd game in that series would be inkeeping with the same themes as the first two - storyline continuity but different title and different gameplay that hasn't been done before, with its own distinctive instantly-recognisable look.

I'm hoping they get enough "hints" that people want Radiant Silvergun ported at the very least. I'd be all for either a DS or a PSP release, especially if it was tateable.

As for Project RSG-3, well, there have been lots of circulated rumors around the mill, some have said they might do something for Nintendo DS, some even say that Gradius V could have been their RSG-3 although that's way out there.

My hope is that they combine elements from Ikaruga (refined chain system and/or black/white energy conversion) and RSG (long freakin levels/bosses possibly utilize the levelup system again and the six weapon setup) so that the game itself is epic in its stylings. For me the only shortcoming Ikaruga had, despite being an excellent shmup, was that it was too short. 10 Stages at least for me.

Lastly, I'd also like to see something similar to what they did with Raiden III's Double Mode (two ships on one controller ^^)
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Your idea on how to make RSG-3 is excellent.

I doubt we will ever see a port of RSG though, since the only people that do the port whore thing with Treasure games are Sega, and as far as I know Sega doesn't own RSG.

In RSG's case it wouldn't matter, since it's not a tate-oriented game to begin with.

I'd buy a DS or PSP for a RGS port alone. First I'd buy the game of course, then I'd buy the actual system.

I like Blade's ideas for RGS3 as well. That's exactly what I had in mind. Although, I would also like to see the game have vert levels, then on occasion switch to hori levels, like in Salamander 2, to keep it interesting. That combined with the graphics of Ikaruga & Gradius V would make it an instant classic.

Just wanted to second that I really like Blade's idea for a RS follow up. A simpler Ika style chining system but with RS's epic length would be an ace game.

But I'd rather see RS ported to a home system than PSP or DS. Unfortunately, Treasure's localization rep told Hardcore Gaming mag back in Sept that there are currently no plans for a port of RS (glad I got mine). Maybe they're waiting until after the Alien Soldier/GSH PS2 comp disc is released? Which reminds me, is that still a go?

Like I said before, thats all Sega's doing. Sega doesn't own RS. ESP does (if they're still around, otherwise Treasure does).
