I am obviously super nub to all this, but when AmarecTV's config guide for the SC-512N1-L/DVI specifically states that 'X-SYNC is required.' for RGB 240p@60 it kinda sticks in my mind that something like that must be used from the BVM output- either the X-SYNC or Sync Strike.

I've come to the conclusion that either way it'll probably still kinda looks like poop so I decided to just buy a framemeister to upscale my picture anyway- figure that'll get me the nicest results. I also wanted to play some old consoles on my HDTV, the weather is nice and I want to spend more time in the living room.

Oh well problem solved? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol ez way out via XRGB-mini, gg no re.
It can actually look really good without a framemeister (if you upscale it in software instead). Check out my vids, this is YUY2 upscaled to 720p :

And it would have looked even a bit sharper have I upscaled it in 1080p

Oh I don't doubt it, I just also wanted it to use on my HDTV so I figured why not. I should and plan to mess with my configuration some more.

Your video does look great, I'll see what I can do. I suspect my codec is not set right, or some of my other adv settings in amarectv.

Well, I tried to hook up my saturn which I got working and I get this:

Seems like I am getting this no matter what settings I pick. Any ideas? lol

What type of audio/video connection are you using for your sega saturn?

Same as my SNES, SCART -> SCART ~ BNC Breakout cable -> PVM input

The scart cable is wired for csync, it does have the 220uF capacitor on the sync line if that somehow makes a difference. Obviously it looks fine on my BVM though.
