Want to start a petition (Read to comprend)

Post by MSd7342v2 »

Hello! Im a younger teen (16 years), sorry If I made a multi-account but I was so buzy in study and lost the email regitered to the first account (MSd7342) But thats not the point.

I want to see if there is any chance to made a petition in Kickstarter to make a new Gradius game, Im a big fan and Otomedius make me wanted more, the idea of the crossover was just perfect but since konami like to overrate Metal Gear they dont remember the Gradius Saga.

So Im new at this to make at the petition, do you think it will work? Its stupid I know but the videogame industry is reaching another ''1983 clash'' so I at least want another Gradius Game.

Anyway, hopefully someone can help me.
Thanks and regards

Konami is steadily moving away not only from its "neglected" properties but video game development in general, so unfortunately any such effort is almost certain to be a waste of time.

Damn...
Sorry if my English is a problem, my natal language is the Spanish.

But anyway, that kinda dissapoint me, they still have pottential and many forgotten sagas that can return in or another way, well...look like R-Type and Gradius are both pretty much dead.
Why the videogame is dying at this form? Well, hopefully in a future everything raise.

I don't see anything preventing Konami from outsourcing again like they've done in the past. Get M2 to develop again and you can sign me up. Gradius Rebirth was superb. They "get" Gradius.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Yeah, rebirth was very nice.
I would like to see Treasure make Gradius VI or even otomedius 3 (dont know why I make a obsession against Otomedius...), there is even some minor details I wanted like a Otomedius anime (I think there is enough characters and history/material to start one) but for now, I want newer games, DariusBurst is the prove that Taito give to say ''the SHMUP is still alive, c'mon guys, lets make friendly competition...like the old days''

Most shmup guys seem to be looking around for something different, or hanging it up. Rumour mill is that treasure's all but done - members mostly gone their own way, day to day business more like a property/license management company than game dev.

In the old days they said 'let's make some money making shooting games', today they're saying 'I don't want to go broke'.

Not being dead, and being a good bet are two very different things... and I wouldn't think Darius Burst is anyone's idea of a winning business model... On the plus side there seems to be an emerging western dev scene/interest...

For me is mostly dead because there is a lot of very buggy games/unfinished (SF V, Battlefront), or much money wasted on Disc-Locked Content (DLC) that can be easily be unlocked by traiditional form (Play the game and finish it, play 20 hours, you know)
And that happen mostly because American people (I dont have anything against...let me explain)
Its because the so becalled ''rat-kids'' only want Online and graphics, and they are who make good games have unfair qualify in some reviewers like IGN or Metacritic.
Japanese/Asian people are the only ones that still want more from this genre, they can play anything without any trouble, thats why DariusBurst is a excellent game in that territory and a ''bad one'' in this part of the world.

I'm starting a petition too! :O

Dear Konami,

Please stop the pachinko IP whoring and do a backflip into a woodchipper.

Best, Pentarou

An utter lack of interest has been severely hamstringing them in recent years. :/

Otomedius is not Gradius. Give me a proper Gradius VI or don't give me anything at all.

Really the only way I see for a sequel to happen is to someone with a ton of money to buy the rights from Konami.

I Kinda liked Otomedius as a Spin-Off but obviously its not Gradius is more like the evolution of Parodius.
I will also like to see Gradius VI and with this generation technology It can reach excesive levels of perfection, with so much levels and quality, considering they can create many ship and weapon variation since Gradius up to Gradius V, including the Spin-Offs

It's a shame that the series is all but over but there is plenty to enjoy.

There the original series Gradius 1 - 4. There is also the excellent Gradius Gaiden on PS1.

Then there is the Treasure game Gradius V and the Rebirth game on WiiWare.

If you liked Otomedius then you will probably like the Parodius series. There are 4 main games in that series to enjoy - Parodius Da, Fantastic Journey, Oshaberi Parodius and Sexy Parodius.

Shame but that's that.

It's pretty much a waste time, unless you have some ideas about Gradius sequel and ask to Konami to greenlit the game.

Related: just recently, there's this new Contra (F2P mobile as it seems) made by Tencent so even if you beg hard enough this kind of treatment will be as far as they can throw at you. That unreleased Salamander reboot from the other thread is probably as closest as it can get. Free to play. Mobile. Made by Tencent/some other Chinese developer.

Those Parodius Games have a lot of japanese humour but I really get many laughs especially because all of them represent Gradius Content, and also there is many Spin Offs like Thunder Cross or maybe even xexex.

I Have a lot of ideas and major part of them were already used in Otomedius, so I can just fix some problem here and there, there is also newer ideas between some friends I have and many other stuff, its not exagerated like ''Make the game more easy'' not really but we can think we can make a new Gradius game with the ideas and the already existent content, with newer technology they became more and more posible.
