Crosspoint and XRGB2 Plus & 3 issues

Post by thetallguy24 »

I finally got my Crosspoint in with the right Scart to BNC cables. I hooked up my RGB NES, SNES, and Genesis to it then to my XRGB2 Plus to test it out, and the images of the games just fly across the screen and flash. I have CSYNC scart cables and CYSNC & non-CSYNC breakout cables.

I then hooked up up the Crosspoint to the XRGB3 and got no picture. I also tried adding my Extron RGB 201xi to the mix with no luck.

The only way the picture shows up properly is connecting directly the Crosspoint directly to the monitor, BUT the picture isn't very stable, I can't get scanlines, and the aspect ratio is messed up pretty bad.

The XRGB2/3 works perfect connecting RGB sources straight to it, but I am wanting to connect 12 consoles to the XRGB2 Plus through the Crosspoint.

Any ideas on what could fix the incompatibility between the Crosspoint and the XRGB2/3?

Thanks

and CYSNC & non-CSYNC breakout cables.
sorry, can you elaborate a little more on this ? What's a CSYNC breakout cable ?

To make the test setup easier, use the RGB input on the back of the XRGB-3. You can use your 201 to convert from RGBs to RGBHV (and set the input no the XRGB-3 accordingly).

Sorry, Scart to BNC cables with built in Sync Stripper

They all have CSYNC Scart cables, which I thought meant clean sync. I also have Scart to BNC cables without the sync stripper and they don't work either.

The only way to get the XRGB3 to work is for it be in B0 mode, which makes it pretty useless for me. I would prefer to be able to use the XRGB2 because it actually works with my older S-Video consoles.

I've tried this on a TV and monitor and get the same results. My guess is its probably these cables.

Just the XRGB2 Plus

Are you sure that all your adapters are wired for the right direction ? That looks as if sync was completely missing.

Spoke to the maker of the cables. Apparently the BNC to Male Scart which goes from the Crosspoint to the XRGB is wired for input instead of output. So I mailed back where he says he's going to rewire it.

Hopefully that will fix the issue.
