Savegames for enabling 480p on a PAL Xbox
I was about to start following this guide when I realized the needed save files are gone (I wanted to use MechAssault). By searching I found a "SID 5.12" package, will this do the trick for getting 480p?

Re: Savegames for enabling 480p on a PAL Xbox
After reading a bit more I have a couple of questions, as the status quo on this isn't exactly clear to me...
1. I have a 1.6 revision unit apparently, which isn't TSOP flashable and doesn't work with those early Sega titles in 480p. Does the TSOP flash on older units (which have the clock cap issues as well) have any advantages over the softmod just in terms of 480p compatibility? I've heard that a softmod can make the Sega games playable, is that true?
2. I have found this this newer tutorial, and this one requires a female USB adapter and some obscure old USB memory device to work. I already bought a male adapter and memory card in anticipation of using it with that Action Replay software, can this work with a newer softmod as well?

not a direct answer to your question, but if you copy those Sega titles to the hard drive and start them through XBMC, they'll run at 480p even on that XBox revision.1. Well I did this softmod now, tried two 32 GB drives and neither were recognized by the console, but I had an old 64 MB one lying around, had to use the smaller install but seems to do the trick nonetheless. I'd certainly wish to be able to use a stock NTSC dashboard though instead of this cluttered one with tons of video options that don't seem to affect games anyway.
I've also noticed that 480p only works when launching the game from the dashboard instead of just starting the console, which is a huge minus because it requires opening the disk tray each time...
