Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Waiting for port announcements now.
Raiden V failed to even chart in the top 50 in Japan. Last week only 60 XB1s were sold. I hope MS bankrolled the development or Moss will really be suffering now.

That's it? Stay on the S path and have all your weapons maxed out before the fight with Humpty Dumpty in Stage 8? Okay, how do I do that? What power up should I start with first?

You play the game and figure it out.

Try making a Raiden V topic in the Strategy section and ask for some in depth help there.

All right. When I start, I'll play this game on Easy just to make this less stressful.

I think this guy is trolling now, why do you need to ask what power up to start with? Anyone with basic reading knowledge and a basic understanding of the game would know what to do. Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Pretty sure he meant PS4, or something thats actually selling. I mean 60 units sold in an entire 30 day period. 2 sales per day for an the entire country of Japan, which has always been game crazy for decades. And this is a current Gen system. I don't typically do console wars crap but when moss are looking at which platform to put a super niche game onto and launch in a country where one would assume a vast majority of sales or import sales day 1 would come from, who the hell picks the worst console that's currently selling?Furry Fox Jet Pilot wrote: NA and EU versions were confirmed for the near future. Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
This article claims that games released in February for both the XBox One and WiiU sold under 1500 units apiece (not counting Virtual Console or other download stuff). However, the only game to come out in February for the WiiU was some mahjong game, while the XBone had three Greatest Hits titles (Forza, Zoo Tycoon, and Halo), and Raiden V. It's worth mentioning that all of those came out on the 25th, but still not a great sign.
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
No, not PS4. it's been announced for X1. I can't speak for Europe, but here in the USA it's doing quite well. The difference between PS4 and X1 consoles sold here is very small, maybe 1-2 million units at most. Exact figures are hard to find, but I think it's something like 10.x million to 9.x million at this point (or similar).Strikers1945guy wrote:Pretty sure he meant PS4, or something thats actually selling. And btw, the 60-unit figure was over a one-week period. I'm not saying that's good, just that it's a week, not a month.

xbone is doing fine in the USA and UK, it's mainland Europe and Japan where it's tanking.
A western release makes sense before a port, given Microsoft likely bankrolled development or have some deal with Moss which props them up. I'd like to see a firm commitment though, torn between waiting and importing at the moment.

From what I gather of your posts, you don't seem very partial to the replay value of shmups, do you?
It's kind of a big part of most of them.

It's less an intolerance of newbies and more a case of you appearing to just not listen. Multiple people have answered your questions precisely.
You should probably hold off on laying down a strategy and discussing the game until you actually have the game in your hands! The game only just came out, after all - most folks are just as lost as you. Part of the fun of playing a shmup (at least from my POV) is sitting down with it and getting a feel for how it plays. How the ship moves, how all the power-ups work, and so on. You've got to learn how to pilot your fighter before you can take out the big bad, y'know?

I'm sorry but I've said this back on the two Facebook posts that are now deleted but you aren't exactly new when you have nearly 400 posts. I was nice before but man, you have to be kidding me right now. The game just came out and this guy is spamming asking a question about how to do something tht has already been answered. I would highly advise that you create a thread in the strategy section before you get banned for spamming god knows what.

Who is RegalSin? I'm not that guy. Besides, Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviours only took me three days to complete. I've been looking up videos of Raiden V, hoping that someone could upload a full playthrough on any difficulty with Divine Rampart accessed, but I have no luck right now.

Or at the very least, wait until closer to the time that you will actually have the game and just follow the progress and info that'll naturally seep in over time until then, and THEN ask anything that may be unanswered at that time.Heavy Viper wrote:It's less an intolerance of newbies and more a case of you appearing to just not listen. No reason at all to get yourself worked up about having to know everything (and asking repeatedly despite getting the best answers we have) an entire 9 months in advance of when you'll actually have the game.
Though I am curious as to why you'll have only until the end of the year to play it after Christmas myself.
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
You guys should really stop replying to the obvious troll and get back to discussing the game. He is aware of the culture of this forum and the gentleman's rules of the genre, he is aware that you already answered his questions. He is intentionally posting in a way that runs counter to the culture of this board in order to antagonize reactions from people. Our best course of action is to ignore his posts completely at this point.

Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I don't think anyone ever actually answered the TLB conditions clearly. It's simple: just do a full clear (play all stages 1-8) and get all weapons to rank 10 before fighting Stage 8 boss.
- 1CC is NOT required, you can use continues (though you won't unlock All Clear 1CC/TLB achievement this way)
- You can do it on any difficulty level (well, at least Very Easy and up - I never tried "Practice"), and can even bump shields/bombs up to max in options
- There doesn't appear to be a "stay in S rank" requirement. I've made it to TLB on Very Easy going 1-2A-3A-4S-5S-6S-7S-8A (note that I missed S rank on stages 3 and 8 )
- Starting on a higher stage via Stage Select doesn't seem to work, even though it's still possible to get all weapons max rank. I tried it out on Stage 8A (which starts you with all weapons at rank 9), got all rank 10 weapons, no TLB appeared.
As far as weapon upgrade strategy, it seems pretty wise to keep weapons balanced throughout the game and not let any one weapon lag more than a few levels behind your top weapon. Otherwise you could find yourself on like Stage 6 with two rank 10 weapons, then have to switch over to a weak rank 1 and level it up - making it really hard on the later stages. Much easier to do a balanced upgrade path, maybe favoring early upgrades toward your less preferred weapons so that you don't have to use them on harder later stages.
Regarding the Cheer system, to be clear: it seems it's currently broken and causes system crashes. I've had at least 5-6 game freezing crashes, accompanied by an awful static sound, where the game locks up and after several seconds kicks me back to Xbox dashboard. This also causes you to get no credit from that play toward unlocking levels for stage select and mission mode (one of the first times I got a crash was on Stage 8 boss of my first all-S run...). Only happens when Cheer mode is set to on via the options, I haven't experienced any crash with Cheer mode off. It's too bad, as I find the system kind of fun - it's not some radical game changing thing, but it's cute and does somewhat affect gameplay (increases Cheer Attack gauge when you cheer others). But until there's a patch, stay away. Cheer gauge does slowly build anyway even with Cheer mode turned off, so you don't totally lock out the extra Cheer Attack.

That doesn't really seem to resonate with what the rest of the community has experienced. I've played the game for probably around 30 hours and it never crashed once, even when actively using the cheer system like 85% of the time I was playing.hamfighterx wrote:Regarding the Cheer system, to be clear: it seems it's currently broken and causes system crashes. Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I know I'm not the only one to report crashing. See this guy's Youtube review reporting the exact same thing I've experienced: https://youtu.be/2qdHj-m1Kc0 He discusses crashes at the start of the video alongside some footage, with actual discussion about 33 seconds in.
His experience is EXACTLY what happened to me at least 6 times, at random times from roughly 15 to 60 minutes into a play. It's just a sudden freeze accompanied by loud static noise (as the Youtube guy notes in his comments, although he edited the video to reduce the jarring noise), kicks you back to Xbox dashboard. The majority of the time I start a game it will crash some time before the end of level 8. Timing is all over the place though, sometimes in the first few levels, and one all the way at level 8 boss.
I am fairly certain it has something to do with the Cheer system, as every time I've crashed I had Cheer turned on... and I've never had a crash in over 10 hours of playing with Cheer turned OFF from the main menu. I can't recall a single other instance of any other game crashing my Xbox One that I've had for over 2 years (launch US console), so I don't suspect a faulty console - especially with other reports identical to mine.
I'm running version 1.10 of the game, which I believe is the current version (and was the current version the day I received my game). I first encountered crashes on Saturday, Feb. 27 and it still happened as recently as Sunday Mar. 6.
Anyone else have this experience? In particular:
* Are crashes happening with Cheer mode turned On/Off?
* Do you have the game installed to internal HDD or an external USB drive? Mine's on an external, possibly something to do with it (though I play plenty of other games off external drive with zero issue)
At any rate, I'm still really enjoying the game! Just can't play it with Cheer on thanks to the frequent crashes. It's a cute little addition, but I'm happy to give it up for stability and I don't think it makes a huge difference. I've also noticed the number of people participating seems lower already after the comparatively lively first weekend after game release. Not sure if the fewer Cheer users is just due to not many people playing the game period, or if this is more of a known issue with the Japanese community and they're choosing to turn Cheer off for the same reason I am.
