EverDrive N8 not working on NESRGB Modded Famicom
Hi guys. I recently had my Famicom that was previously AV composite modded changed to NESRGB. All of my regular Famicom carts work fine and look great in RGB. Even my NES carts work fine with my NES to FC adapter cart. What doesn't work (which did before it had NESRGB installed) is my EverDrive N8. What I get is either a black screen or a screen that looks like an out of tune tv as if I was using rf. Sometimes after persistent resetting of the console it will display a solid green screen then change to a blue colour and then nothing. Any ideas or am I screwed? Video below skip to end to see issues with EverDrive.

P.S. My EverDrive N8 works fine in my PAL Unmodded NES Console.

Is your Everdrice up to date ?
When I got my Famicom ED I had the same problem. There was a FW/OS update which fixed RGB compatibility, BUT this was early on, I'm surprised that yours would show this very problem today.

It could worth the trouble to check with a psu that delivers more amps to the famicom... The n8 uses more power than a regular cartridge and the nesrgb does need some mA itself as well - maybe there isn't enough juice to get it running

I am on the latest OS and the EverDrive is new (xmas 2015). I will see if I can try another PSU as I have been using a SEGA MegaDrive Model 1 PSU to no avail.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

I second the PSU suggestion. I was in a similar situation and that was it.

I use a 9v 2A psu and things work great.
Btw there is no need to hunt for a 10v PSU , use a 9v with the correct polarity.

I'm using an EU Jaguar PSU on the same setup without issues.

Thanks guys, I have got a 10v 2A PSU on its way which is correct in terms of polarity so I am all good to go! I will try it when it arrives and fingers cross that it fixes my issue.

Re: EverDrive N8 not working on NESRGB Modded Famicom
The PSU Arrived and I tried it.... still a messed up screen. I did manage to get the EverDrive to fire on once every 50 attempts or so but I will end up killing the Famicom if I keep doing that.
I will probably have to sell the NES version of the EverDrive N8 Cart on and by the actual Famicom version as I think it could the the NES to FC Adapter having some kind of influence on this. Why do I think that? because if i fire up my Famicom with no cart in it the screen does the same Old School TV out of tune style screen......

Do you know if the installer used the extra voltage regulator that Tim provides with the NESRGB?

Black screen or tv out of tune is the cart not being read.djdavedoc wrote:Hi guys. I recently had my Famicom that was previously AV composite modded changed to NESRGB. You might have better luck posting on krikzz forums.
If your other carts are being read then its not your ppu or cpu.
Maybe the power regulator ?
Or perhaps there is a single pin not working on the RGB kit that the N8 needs but the other carts don't.
