Hi Guys,
I haven't seen this mentioned before, but please point me in the right direction if it has already been discussed.
What are the disadvantages of running a BVM or PVM in a country / continent that it was not originally designated for? E.g. running a Sony BVM-20F1U in Europe or a BVM-20F1J in Australia.
Are they calibrated for certain hemisphere's or something?
Thanks in advance!
Using a BVM / PVM in a country it was not designated for?

BVM E/U/J Northern Hemisphere, BVM A Southern Hemisphere, I think I read CRTs for the southern hemisphere markets were manufactured upside down. The earths magnetic field affects CRTs which is why some have rotation settings and the manuals say to position them facing east or west if possible.

It's not impossible to rotate the tube 180 degrees, then flip the yoke wires around to compensate - if that's your thing.
