Experience with "The King of Air" 51-in-1?

Post by drunkninja24 »

So I've come across this board in some browsing around. Obviously nothing would be able to compare with the original PCBs in a cabinet for a game, but from the reviews and videos I've seen online, it does seem this board at the very least does perform a bit better than others I've seen in the past (input lag, washed out video, etc). Just curious if anyone else here has had any experience with this board and can offer any input. Mostly looking at it as something I can play games on my cabinet with with little setup.

Well, after going over some reviews, I decided to go ahead and give this board a shot. Gonna post up with some thoughts of my own here once it arrives

Shit! I could have saved you. It sucks.

No Vsync, but to make up for that you at least get bilinear filtering and input lag. Stay the hell away.

software/emulation problems aside, I assume the output is also 480i instead of 240p, right ?

Guh, I can deal with the other stuff tbh, but input lag is a deal breaker for sure, was kinda afraid of that, but found no mention or complaints about it in any of the videos I saw.

Still had time to cancel, so hey

Did my best (aka shit) to try and capture the beauty of this beast.

Funnily enough the picture seems to be 240p. I really can't make it out with the blurry filter bullshit, but I don't see interlace flicker or anything like that.

I was also wondering about this multicart. Seems a few revisions exists. Jockel, were you using CGA or VGA, and have you tried both? Also, Garegga normally has a few frames of lag, so I'm no sure I'm convinced your slow-mo video would appear any different with the real mccoy.

I have had a real Battle Garegga PCB for a long time, something is definitely not normal. Seems like controls stay active too long, making the game feel floaty; if that makes sense?! Whatever it is, it's just not right. I was playing through CGA.
