Fucking this.

They were definitely playing on an easy mode for the demonstration so he could talk and explain things while playing and not be constantly dying. Or this might possibly be a "campaign" story type mode where things get significantly more difficult by rank or just gradually as you go or level up. Either way, it's fairly obvious this is not how the entire game will be.

Also, I forgot there's a few other pretty major shmups in the works for release this year exclusively on Xbox One, including Natsuki Chronicle from Qute (Eschatos, Ginga Force) and the Shooting Love Trilogy from Triangle Service. Should be a great year if any one of these games live up to the previous games from their respective developers.

Switching account regions on Xbone is very quick & easy to do, so even if it only gets released on the JP store you'll still be able to buy it without much trouble.

No IP lock for full price games like on the 360?

Thank you for answering my question fella. Did Microsoft fund the development of this game? Microsoft published both of Treasures STG on the 360 worldwide. If sales of the X1 console are ridiculously low in Japan they would be nuts to only release it there. I hope Moss dont forget about us Western fans.

Given that Shooting Love 200X and Caladrius both recently got digital UK releases, I wouldn't rule it out for Raiden V on xbone.

Damn thing's got to be released at all yet though...

  • Shooting Love 200X - Physical NTSC-J: 2009-02-19 western marketplace: 2015-04-21 => 6 Year delay
  • Caladrius - Physical NTSC-J: 2013-04-25 western marketplace: 2015-09-04 => 2 Year delay
  • The Xbox One released on 2013-11-22 in western markets, so presumably hosting Xbox 360 digital content became incredibly cheap in 2015.
  • However minimal there was some necessary localization effort before release to western marketplaces.
The issue is whether MOSS Co. Ltd. has "enough gas left" to make it much beyond the initial release of Raiden V in Japan.
Hopes for PS4/PC ports and the associated localization rests entirely with H2 Interactive - they are currently working on localized PS4/PC ports for Caladrius Blaze.

While I haven't bought any digital JP games for Xbone yet, I know it's very common for Xbone users in Europe and Australia to switch their account regions to buy cheaper games on the US store. Xbone games are region free, so there wouldn't be much of a point in IP locking them.

There's definitely no IP lock on digital Xbox One games, I just bought one the other day. The only caveat is that you have to have the account/profile that you bought it with signed in on the same console to play it with a different account, but other than that, it's not locked.

I watched part of the livestream, and it was more of the same, and they stopped after stage 2 again (maybe they couldn't show more?). It was a bit better quality, and I could actually hear the music because the girl who was there wasn't screeching like the other two in the previous livestream. I also caught a glimpse of the other characters in the gallery as well.

It's 14 days to "physical" release - this is typically the time frame were the game has "gone gold" and manufacturing uses the master to stamp the discs (I doubt replication would be permitted). And for the broadcast they were still sticking to the 2016-Feb-25 release date - so it should be "all there" unless the discs have already been printed because they are expecting to do a "(Xbox One) Day One patch" OR it's all a DLC code anyway. Frankly 14 days to release I would have already expected some game play footage by a competent tester on ChannelMOSS by now.

Why wouldn't you just want to buy a physical copy? Pre-orders are still available, you won't have to wait for very long if you use EMS, you have the option to resell, etc.

I generally buy physical if the option is available. Yeah, digital games are super convenient, but I like having the resale option when possible.

I also forgot to mention that the president of MOSS was present during the gameplay. And according to this: http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/001/218/1218023/ they are undecided on making an arcade version, and the cloud features could be a problem when considering PS4 and Steam. Or at least that's what I could make out from the translation.

Will this game have multiple final stages, final bosses, and endings like Darius? How long will this game beat if this game is like a cross between a shmup and an RPG?

Well I mean not sure what I expected, cheesy but maybe that's a good thing. They could have skipped taking weeks to make that and made the game roll out faster than vaporware but Im just complaining now :mrgreen:

The "high pitched" guitars remind me of Gust games (specifically the Atelier series), so I like it. Can't wait to listen to the whole soundtrack, then.

The main site has also been updated with character info and aircraft info. Two characters have been revealed so far; Richard Maxwell the commander, and Eshiria Portman, the cute operator girl. It's a shame I can't read Japanese, because I would've liked to understand everything that was said about the story and characters. Regarding the music, I love what I hear so far! Definitely getting a Caladrius and Ace Combat vibe from the epic chanting parts. I can't wait to hear the rest of the OST, so far Yoshimi Kudo has filled in Go Sato's absence decently. I will miss those melodies Sato was known for though... If there are none in the rest of the tracks. I do like the heavy guitar usage that came with the new music style.

From Raiden III to V, none of the intros have been particularly impressive imo

Doesn't really show anything new, First stage again plus a couple of Boss rushes. Unfortunately I get the impression they haven't made much effort with this release. It doesn't look as good/visually distinct as Raiden IV which is a huge shame.
