CHANGE LOG

Since this is the first release, this is just a log of the changes
made for version 1.0 at present.

· All in-game text has been FULLY translated into English -- in a
manner which is MUCH more authentic than any prior (official)
localizations, and does not sacrifice any graphics or music.

· Pre-translation "Engrish" has all been expanded, edited, and
fixed -- where needed. [This mostly applies to the credits.]

· The base ROM was expanded from 8Mbit (1MB) to 12Mbit (1.5MB).

· Base game has been hacked to effectively sever it from the BS-X
cartridge BIOS, SRAM, etc. For more information on why this
is useful, see Section #01. The important thing is, the game
now FULLY functions as its own *independent* SNES ROM or cart!

· Internal cartridge header has been extensively modified in the
process of achieving this project's goals. In addition, this
also allows for the ROM to now have an American (NTSC) region
setting; and a unique Game ID, internal title, and the like.

· A small "intro" (single-screen, displaying until any input) was
inserted into the ROM -- both to clearly differentiate it as
the translation without altering any existing game assets; and
additionally to display patch version, release date, and so
forth. I'll admit it was partially pure hubris, too! Haha.

· The extant English font in-ROM has been cleaned up a bit. This
entailed slight modifications to roughly half of the letters,
mostly for internal consistency (although a few were re-drawn
entirely); and adding additional punctuation, etc. in place of
the Japanese alphabets after all of the text was translated.

· A few additional very small graphic modifications, mostly to the
title screen letters, etc.

· Some "bonus content" in the leftover space from the expansion.
-------

In addition, here are some of the planned (or at least proposed!)
changes to be implemented in future versions of this patch:

· I would like to have the built-in pseudo-debug features "turned
on" from the get-go, and on a permanent basis. This is mostly
the ROUND selection and "DEATH/NON-DEATH" feature. I may in
future patches have two versions of the patch -- one WITH this
turned on, and one without.

· It's definitely beyond my skills at the moment, but I'd like to
perhaps turn my little intro into an optional trainer.

· I'd like to add "BS" to the title screen proper.

· I also want to have the game load with the "STEREO ON" sound
mode natively.

· Lastly, I'd like to implement SRAM to save high-scores, and user
options, from boot-up to boot-up.
I'm not sure what the gameplay differences in the BS versus Retail versions are, but having the proper translated text is nice.

Bull Shit Super Aleste !

(*cough* dunno what BS stands for here)

That's cool but if I recall one version has better quality voice samples and it's not the JP one, it would be cool if he could switch with the eu or us ones (whichever is best i need to check)

Today I learned there was a fucking BS Super Aleste. I had no idea.

BS refers to the Satellaview.

I am very displeased that they tried to "fix" the Engrish. I really wish translators would stop doing that.

I must be missing something, because I just can't find the BS version of this game, just the regular, non-BS one. What should I be googling to find it?

"The BS version of ‘Super Aleste’ (as with the others) has a TON of nice fanservice content and features" except "It turns out that the Japanese cartridge release is nearly identical to the BS version, a fact the translator wasn’t aware of when beginning the project."
