There are a few major changes, namely the shield meter replacing the lives. Hopefully MOSS reveals another trailer soon... Because we are getting closer to launch day

Raiden V on Amazon JP is around the same price as Ami Ami's listing, but can anyone tell me why there are two different editions? One is more expensive than the other. Physical vs digital I'm guessing? I just want to make sure, because I think I'm going to pre order it from Amazon instead, and I want the physical copy, not the digital. Also, how likely are the first print editions to sell out? I really want the soundtrack along with it!

Very likely and I suggest buying it while you can. Amiami are usually cheaper and better allow for international shipping though.

They're both physical, and as far as I can tell, both versions come with the soundtrack, but the more expensive "Amazon limited" version comes with some sort of exclusive postcard(s). I can't find any more specifics, but for an extra 1500 yen those had better be pretty special.

According to the very reliable Google Translate, the more expensive version includes "Amazon-exclusive post cards".
Pretty sure it's not worth it, unless you like collecting that stuff.

I saw that the game had a Story Mode.

Ah, maybe that's the difference, is that I have a US 3DS, and maybe EU has different settings for this. I tried a non-DSi Japanese game (Rhythm Tengoku Gold, to be exact) and it did not play in my US 3DS, at least the last time I checked.

I just pre ordered my copy from AmiAmi, but please bear with me as I have some questions, since I've never made an international purchase before. It appears I will not be charged until the game is ready to ship, and I chose PayPal as my payment method. However, amiami didn't ask me to link my PayPal account. Will that be done once I am charged?

They'll send you an email once they have product in hand and once they know how much shipping will be - that is when you can pay. If you don't pay within 7 days of that email message they'll sell your merchandise to somebody else.

I am seriously considering getting an Xbox One just for this game. Someone talk me out of it.

Don't do it. Just buy the game if you have any friends that own a One and that won't mind you playing it on their console. That's what I'm doing. I don't even have a One and I already preordered my copy, because I have a friend who lives next door that has one. That way I'm still supporting MOSS. It will most likely show up later on PC and PS4. When it does, I'm double dipping again on PS4. Right now I just want to get a first print run because it comes with the soundtrack.

There's no point in buying a console just for one game, unless you REALLY want to play said game. Is there nothing else on Xbone that interests you?

Nothing that I can't play either on PC or 360. I can see a PC port in the distant future, but a PS4 port seems unlikely to me. If the game doesn't get an arcade release, I may just end up taking the plunge.

I was on AmiAmi last night thinking about it..... after reading your feelings of enthusiasm.
A personal problem like yours in regards to Raiden V, I wish I was able to play DariusBurst Chronicle Saviors (I have XBone and Mac laptop).....
Then I replayed the promo ad of Raiden V, and once again, a feeling = :(......
I kept telling myself, "the game is only 50-60 bucks, who cares if it isn't that good, you have an Xbox One! Take one for the team."
But I couldn't do it....even when owning the console in question. It really does look like shit. I kept replaying the promo, but it just got worse and worse the more I looked at it.
I decided to donate $27.77 to Bernie Sanders campaign instead.

I was gonna make a joke about supporting a vain cause, but frankly, supporting MOSS at this point is pretty vain too lol. Supporting the Xbox One is only marginally less so.

I'm not expecting to be blown away by the game, but it's Raiden, damnit. This series is responsible for some of my earliest gaming memories and this is probably the last time it's getting a new release.

odd. I haven't had any problems with my JP games (Ouendan, Goemon, and Mawashite Koron) on N3DSXL (or my previous 3DSXL) and mine is US.

I look forward to yours and others thoughts still after its release. Keeping my fingers crossed that it actually ends up better than it looks.
I'll of course dip if the gameplay is solid.

Patience; last time it only took a day or so for a clear version of the trailer to show up on ChannelMOSS. i.e
Elixir: Raiden V exclusive new footage (nicovideo livestream, 9/12/2015) vs. 雷電V PV第二弾 ... which also saves you from having to zip through the inane chatter.

Great. Just great. I happened to fall asleep shortly before it went live
But while we're waiting for more footage, I want to turn our attention to the OST. What are the chances of each of the 30+ stages having their own unique theme?

No way will each stage have a unique tune, I'll be astonished if that's the case.

Come on Moss, multiplatform this. The Xbox One sold 52 units last week, and the PS4 sold 24441. No point making a game when there's nobody to buy it.

Well maybe people will buy it on Steam when they release it in about 3 years :/

And the butthurt salt mine continues.

Saying there's "no one" to buy the game is factually incorrect and also falsely presumes that no one would be willing to spend the money to buy a console to play the game, and also ignores the fact that XB1 has also sold around 20 million units worldwide, and with the games being region free, anyone who already owns one and really wants to play this outside of Japan could easily import it, especially since it's basically the same price as a Western game release.

They must have some sort of exclusive contract in place for Xbox One, that's the only thing that would make any sense. Either that or the company is run by complete idiots and they are trying to run themselves out of business.

I love Raiden, but I would never buy a system to play one game, especially a dead system.

Are you saying that they are advertising and selling this game outside of japan? Could have fooled me.

Nobody except a few extremely hardcore people on this forum even know this thing exists.
