Being an ass is all part of the French language's essence. She's quite fluent actually.

It makes sense when you're speaking about a specific subject using terms that work in context, such as using Latin in medicine or English with programming, but this practice annoys me in everyday chat.
Where I live in Italy, it's a common habit for people that want to appear witty and open-minded but are really hiding their filthy ignorance of Italian (I'm no master, but how stupid are you??). I've seen it on internet videos too.
One of my parents/
A member of my family drops English words in their sentences most of the time because they're "quicker and elegant," and "both languages are the same." Shades of anti-nationalism perhaps, which is common in recent years. However, these people sound like pretentious douchebags that should read a damn online dictionary if they have the slightest doubt about their own language..
I'm slightly bored and felt like doing some localisation, so I fixed that for you.. I hope some meaning wasn't lost in translation.

"how much are you dumb?" really made me laugh
I didn't bother to check for any mistake before posting it (I wrote that post by following my stream of thoughts and feelings), so thanks for translating the weird parts.
But the meaning is the same: people that pretend to know a language in order to hide their ignorance of their own language or that subject in that language (there are because we have scholars that does such) are really annoying to put up with.

Why I catch the baddest of colds every friggin' January. *sneeze*

And why this time it's combined with a toothache I have to endure several days because all local dentists are overbooked. :x

The dude I work with (we share an office) eats this soup that smells like canned cat food and tastes, I am guessing, only slightly better.

Please kill me.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

The use of countries, states, etc. as impressive units of measurement. "blah blah blah the size of Delaware".

Why is it always Delaware, anyways? You can look at a map and see Texas (which is sometimes used) fairly well, Alaska, and of course Florida and Michigan. But on the map Delaware's barely there, and it's not a widely recognized shape either.

On a related note, I hate that the atomic bombing of Hiroshima is a unit of measurement for explosions. Even worse, it's almost always with Hiroshima on the losing end (i.e. "Despite being the smallest active volcano in the world, today's eruption was as strong as 1000 Hirohima's!").

Although I guess at least it gets some recognition, unlike poor forgotten Nagasaki.

I know I'm posting like a fuck, but...

Songs that take too long to get to the good part. You can only build up before it becomes boring.

What's going on with the Dark Souls comic?

Typical underbaked comic cover style (click past the first two covers). First alternate: Some dude launching himself onto a nondescript green dragon like it's a barroom brawl. Just like the good old days, right? Second alternate: Robocop vs. The Terminator vs. The Chosen Undead.

Oh, and the writer did some Doctor Who comic. Man I feel so good about this.

People treating "logic" like it's a serene state of mind instead of a learned skill.

A person can be completely calm and collected, yet their reasoning is completely fallacious, and vice-versa for someone emotional and agitated.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Arcade long plays consisting of credit-feeding, or made by people who don't know how to play the game in question.

Long Plays are not meant to be demonstrations of any kind of skill. They're just there to visually showcase the game. In case, say, you want to link your friend to a particular piece of artwork in the game but don't want to record the whole game yourself.

It makes a lot more sense for non-arcade games.

English people using the Americanism "can I get ____" while ordering food.

I thought the 'propa bri'ish' way was to say "can I have."
In fact, I don't remember anyone using the americanism pre 2009 or so, but suddenly everyone my age uses it, like it happened overnight.

"Earthbound". This is a stupid series name. I understand why they changed the name at least (because the first game wasn't released), but it's still a dumb name devoid of the meaning that "Mother" imparted to the series.

Showcasing the game can also mean presenting the right way to play it. It was even more jarring when all the other longplays from the channel (Replay Burners) were 1CCs or even 1LCs. Using a cheat is more understandable than credit-feeding, if the point is to entirely showcase the game. The replay in question was being played in a very incompetent manner, too.

I would posit that they also changed it because no 16-bit-era marketing department in the West would have had any idea what to do with a game named "Mother".

Some cool nonsense I have during breaktime in school hours ago :

Friend 1 : "Hey, do you have some cool movies?"
Me : "Yes, here it is (showing Star Wars 456 on my laptop)"
Friend 1 : "What is that? I want look...."

*Play ANH, skip the crawl, during opening sequence*

Friend 1 : "Looks ugly, the effects looks shitty too."
Friend 2 : *sitting in front of my desk* "But it's a old movie."
Me : "It was made in year 1977."
Friend 2 : "Yeah, the effects was truly mind-blowing at that time."
Friend 1 : *noticed Stormtrooper* "Even that robots doesn't look real."
Me : *_*

People who adopt Pit Bulls and don't take the extra effort it requires to keep them under control.

Just took my dog to the vet for an emergency visit last night after a skinny little wisp of a college student lost her grip on her pit bull's leash during a run and the damn thing sprinted across the street and attacked my dog. Thankfully it didn't cause serious damage and she agreed to pay the bill, terrified I was going to report her dog to the police and have it destroyed. But I told her when she paid that she needed to get a dedicated running leash for the thing or obedience lessons.

This is not the first time a pit bull owner lost their grip on the leash and their dog attacked mine.

The weird thing is, I never see German Shepherd owners who are as frivolous with controlling their dogs as pit bull owners. Is it just that the vast majority of shelter dogs are pit bulls? Is it that we don't have Cesar Millan telling people on TV that German Shepherds are an unfairly maligned breed, so the liberal owners start overzealously applying principles of tolerance to their dog's behavior? Or is it just something about the German Shepherd's bearing that tells their owners not to fuck around?

Pit Bulls were bred to be ready to fight on a signal and to not respond to pain. What could possibly be the problem?

Breeding and training are 2 very different things. If you train a dog for aggression, they will be aggressive. If you don't, they generally won't be. Dogs are not born aggressive, this is trained into them.

Blame shit owners, not breeds.

Still dogs. Animals. You can never be 100% sure how a dog will react to things his entire life, even one raised by the kindest master ever.
Also try to tell genetics and zoology races naturally more agressive don't exist, or specifically not among dogs.
Pit bulls, like other guard and attack dog breeds are one of those brought with such purpose: be more gressive and dangerous than your average mutt.
Many countries disagree with pro-molosser and such, and I'm glad they do, because I've grown with enough animals and specifically dogs around me, and seen enough nasty shit because of them, to know I'll always feel safer with bassets, retrievers or poodles around, especially when there are kids around, than with pit bulls, rottweilers, or german shephereds.
Not saying the formers never go wrong, but it's a matter of what fast-running jaw pressure machines you want you or kids, or even eldery, to have to deal with the day it does.
