A Wealthy Man Backs Your Game Convention...
You meet a man who finds out you are into video games from all eras. Instantly, he hands you a credit card with no limit and says get whatever game related equipment to make it the best experience for the attendees.
What would you get? Any era, PC, Console, handheld etc. Focus is on multiplayer/rare experiences.
I'll start it off...
6 Player X-Men Cab
Triple Monitor Ninja Warriors
Triple Monitor Darius
4 Player Cadash
10 Player Saturn Bomberman Setup
10 Player XBox Steel Battalion Setup

*cough*
I think I'd get all the greatest, crazyest multi/linked dedicated cabinets of any genre (too long to list).
And a super large cosy building in a nice city to create an unparalelled arcade.

Don't forget it would have to be in a rented church. Cavehermit would have to make an appearance, dresss as a bishop, naturally.Strikers1945guy wrote:Like 8 candy cabs

Lot of good ones for sure. Definitely would have linked versions of every fighting game with a player base and all the good 3+ Player beat em ups.bulbousbeard wrote:Some more necessities:

4 Player Warlords Cocktail is God Tier
Another one I thought of is 3 Player Turbo Force (never played this but I would like to)

Massive LAN party, for LAN gaming seems dead in the water anymore (except for Japanese trains perhaps). From Game Link Cable to linked consoles, cabs and - naturally, most prominent of all - computers, so nobody should feel singled out.
As easily most space- and other resources-demanding in its heyday, I can only hope LAN gaming will benefit from the recent mobile hegemony as well.

What older computer games would be considered legendary for LAN play?Obiwanshinobi wrote:Massive LAN party, for LAN gaming seems dead in the water anymore (except for Japanese trains perhaps). Re: A Wealthy Man Backs Your Game Convention...
Wasn't Doom the first LAN gaming smash hit? Then I suppose Quake III Arena netplay is as evergreen as the original UT vs bots. Then much younger games already disabled online (such as OutRun 2006) remain virtually alive there thanks to LAN emulation...
People interested in the event would must vote for their most desired titles in advance I guess. This kind of democracy internet is good for.
Oh, Warcraft II or the original Myth - that sort of stuff too.
