  • I mean anyone must want at least one of those games. Anyone who isn't busy playing Fallout 4 at least
I've never played Fallout. Of any kind or number. I'm completely out of sorts with all of its hype.

I've got to tell you that your post was fantastic, and you're right in the context of which you speak. I, however, am completely anti-digital-only release, which as you might expect, puts me in a bit of a bind. How many of the titles you listed are going to be actual physical releases of said game(s)? If I can't have my own hard copy of the game, I guess I'm basically not interested. Sorry.

I know that there are people out there that are howling at the moon right now because of what I've stated, but it doesn't matter to me. It's the way I am: I still only buy CDs of music, too. No digital-only downloads, no nothing like that. I've made one single exception that I can think of in my life, but *only because* a physical copy wasn't available *and* because the free-to-try experience was so absolutely terrific (Space Tripper by PomPomGames, if anyone cares).

I can safely say that I wouldn't be buying DB:CS were it not for the physical hardcopy release on the Vita.

Call me limited...I cop to it. When I buy something, though? *I* want control over what I do with it, thank you. Downloads are the exact opposite of that, and I hate the medium for that.

Great post, though. I can see what you're saying...but I just can't get there in good faith.

Cosmic Star Heroine
Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space
Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir

Are all confirmed for physical release. Be warned that Cosmic Star Heroine will likely be in very limited supply. These are also pretty good assumptions:

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Danganronpa 3

Muv-Luv was also available physically for Kickstarter backers and they're trying to make a physical version available at release date, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for that.

Thanks for the heads up... lately its harder and harder to find anything physical when it comes to the Vita.

Will be picking up

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Danganronpa 3
Muv-Luv

Once I figure where I can find them lol
Play-Asia and Amazon has been good for Vita pre-orders for me so far :)

Vita (and other platforms) is getting the sequel to Retro City Rampage: Shakedown Hawai.

That's another title that I anticipate will get a physical release.

Looking forward to Shakedown Hawai!

In other news not sure if it was posted or not but haven't heard it here DairusBurst is getting a Western release and arriving earlier than the Japanese release.

Great idea when you consider when Japan gets it first most people have already imported the game.

One PS Vita Black Friday deal going on at Gamestop today, 11-27-2015, includes:

http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita/console ... ive/125335 for a mere $169.99 (regular price is at MSRP of $199.99)

The Bordelands bundled Vita set is still priced at the asking MSRP of $199.99 but comes with a handy 8GB memory card already included (still not bad for just thirty bucks more).

Still not a bad PS Vita deal if you were to ask me.

As an european without a Vita, the PSTV has been a bittersweet purchase for me. (does the gizmo has even a thread here?)
It can't play Lumines. It can't play Ys Celceta in my region. It cannot play SquareEnix games such as Tactics Ogre (my biggest gripe really), Final Fantasy Tactics, or any other good FF. (they seemed to make an exception for 7 and 10hd because, you know, mainstream).
And on the PSN Store EU there isn't even Chrono Cross to download.

Really, a mixed bag.

But now, in a week, Dariusburst CS is here. Everything is forgiven. :D

Not sure, although to be fair, the trinket can be had for so little that I might consider to buy one just to set up an US account... Do they still have Zanac X Zanac around, don't they? :P

Yep, Zanac X Zanac is still available to purchase on the USA region PSN site via either the PS Vita or the PS TV micro console (includes vibration functionality as well + high score keeping for posterity -- how cool is that?). You can even play Jeff Minter's awesome Vita killer app, TxK, on a PS TV full screen in 720p or 1080i glory with an appropriate HDTV via HDMI.

First two were great. Well written, heavy on story and dialog, solid turn based gameplay. First one was the smaller but most consistent of the two. Second one was a much larger game but some of the content was uneven.

Third is the usual overrated Bethesda tripe, with terrible writing, crap engine, poor gameplay (with idiotic pretend turn based action) and lot's of shallow LARPing, which seems to be the reason this company is so popular among people who don't know a whole lot about RPGs.

New Vegas was made by some of the original developers, which means much better writing and better designed gameplay, but some of the problems with Fallout 3 carried over this game as well, starting with the same unsightly visuals.

Fallout 4 is basically barely even an RPG anymore. At this point it is just a fancy shooter + crafting, or something. Visuals have now reached a new level of bad. Still getting 10/10 reviews because gaming journalists are basically just paid shills.

Opus131 wrote:::as Leonardo DiCaprio's version of Howard Hughes:: "Lotta *words*"
Hey, I appreciate the explanation, but it's all Greek to me. I have had, have, and always will have, *zero* interest in any kind of RPG, or its ilk. Remember Shenmue? I hated that game. A stinking *lot*. I absolutely have no idea why people would crowd fund another of those...those *things*. So when I said I hadn't played Fallout of any type or number, it was really for lack of basic interest. I'm basically an arcade-type game player, through-and-through. The very few exception(s?) prove the rule.

Thanks for taking the time, though. Just not my cup of tea.

My wallet was really objecting while I was preording the physical version of Dariusburst. It really isn't cheap :(

Sort of Vita related: Hyperdimension Neptunia U, Hyperdimension Noire and Monster Monpiece are all getting PC releases.

For some reason, of those three, the reaction is that Monster Monpiece is the only game full of pandering and with no gameplay merit

I've never played any of them either.. this read like an article a description hardcore101 would have on the game... nice assessment :)

I freed some room for Bastion. It seems to have an unlocked framerate, but I estimate it's staying within the 20-40 range. Pretty playable though, I'd really like a Transistor port.

So I finally booted up Bastian at work last night to find that the game's frame rate was horrible. Sorry but the Vita could easily handle Bastian.

I'm very disappointed... bought the game way back on the PS4 anticipating the Vita release only to find out it was a half ass port.

I held off playing the PS4 version for this shakes head

If you could authenticate it without an internet connection I'd be really interested.

No download play for the Vita sucks. Would save me the trouble of buying four copies of single game to enjoy four player multiplayer.

Oddworld New 'N Tasty is out. It's disappointing, I hoped for locked 30 FPS and this is so far from it. It's playable, but I wouldn't buy this unless you had a PS4 (it's cross-buy) to fall back on if you can't tolerate it.

Never Alone is cancelled. Maybe not surprising considering how poorly the PS4 port ran, but I was sort of hoping they could manage it anyway.

A Boy and His Blob is being released in two days, I wasn't even aware that it was getting a Vita released. A port of one of my favorite Wii puzzle games and I didn't even know it wasn't getting a Vita version.

A Boy and his Blob, which I had high hopes for is sadly disappointing too. It's locked to 30 FPS. It doesn't hurt the playability of a game like this, but a so simple 2D game running locked at 30 FPS is disappointing after trying the Odin Sphere demo.

ugh. I would expect Bastion to run perfect on the Vita considering the amount of ports that game got. A Boy and His Blob sounds like a quickie port with no enhancements. Did the Wii version also run at 30 FPS?

The PC port does not, so it's a sacrifice made especially for the Vita. I have no clue why.

Edit: no cross-save either :(

XCOM Enemy Unknown Plus is up on the EU store. If you're thinking "when was that announced?": it wasn't. No word on performance yet, I have a US account so I can't try.

There are rumors that the Vita port of Pier Solar is cancelled. See here. If true then I call bullshit on their reason. They have a devkit and Sony seems to go out of their way to support indie developers.

Axiom Verge is in certification now. Hoping for a good port, playing the PC version at the moment and it's fantastic and deserves a good portable version. I see some potential problems with controls and how parts of the game are rendered though.

Aksys released a Zero Time Dilemma trailer a few days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8z9yogpeUA

Comes out on June 28th. I've been looking forward to this for 3-4 years now. Thankfully the series was popular enough in the west to get the final game made. :)

Aksys will also be localizing Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus this summer. The announcement literally came out of nowhere. I don't think anyone ever expected this series of roguelikes to bless the shores outside of Japan again after how poorly the first two attempts by Sega and Atlus had fared.
