So here I sit with no reason whatsoever (i.e. there are no games) to buy anything next gen, and by that I mean DS, PSP or 360. And then in no time I have to buy DS and now a PSP.

I dreamt of this stuff once, honestly it was fanciful. "hey, mate, can you imagine that one day we might have this on a hand held computer?", " Don't be so fucking dumb Lee, this is an arcade game , it'll never happen". "it'd be fucking ace though wouldn't it?". "look stop being so stupid, it's an arccade game".

but then came the GT...

Cheers

Leeram.

I know the feeling Leeram. Heck, I remember back when Super Mario World on a portable seemed like a fun "future dream" one could only muse over. Now we have Mario 64 portable. Sleeveboy put it well on TNL that "fanboys" should stop griping about petty company loyalties (mostly nonexistant here on our forum, I know) and realize this is a golden age of portable gaming and that the competition between the DS and PSP has been wonderful for re-energizing such systems.

And don't forget Capcom Classics Remixed. Virtually perfect Strider, 1941 and Varth to go. Mmmm. Not to mention Taito's new PSP collection.

I know what you guys mean too, every time I look at my DS or PSP I am thinking to myself how as kid I would have freaked if I had one of those...

Sing with me now:

"In the not too distant future, somewhere in time and space, Mike Nelson and his robots friends are playing some portable greats!"

Looks like this game will have a domestic release after all, according to IGN.

Doesn't make any differences to me though, I've preordered the Japanese one already.

Yeah, I still pre-ordered the Japanese one anyway, after I heard the news of US release.

I'll be getting it shipped along with Rajirugi though, so it will take a bit longer for me to get it...

edit: Dylan1CC.... no kidding? Varth on the Capcom pack??

I think this thread (the "Recap's Last Stand" one :P) mentions it...

The confirmation n' stuff is near the bottom of the 4th page, I think.

Lame trailer, they chose Gradius IV footage to promote it? Hmmm. Nice to see the old Saturn fmv movie though.

edit: And good news about the U.S. release but I am importing. "Spring 2006" is much too vague of a date for me and U.S. shooter releases always get pushed back by at least a month.

As glad as I am to see a US release, I'm too impatient to wait it out, so I'm getting the Japanese version. Don't feel like waiting until I'm close to graduating high school.

I'd almost forgotten how close we are getting to the release date.

Just a couple more shots!

Mine will be shipped with Rajirugi though, so I'll have to wait a bit longer...

Mine should hopefully ship on the 9th. I sold a few games to pay for the pre-order, so I hope it turns out to be as good as I'm expecting.

Will be ordering this in a few days. Is Videogame depot still a good outlet? Since they are int he midwest and I am in ND I figured I would give them a shot. Otherwise I have no qualms going with NCS as they have never let me down.

The only reason I would say this doesn't win is because of three things it lacks.

1. Gradius V (you knew that was coming)

2. Parodius (c'mon you knew that was coming too!)

3. ZORADIUS (yes, I said it, the Anti-shmup-shmup! WHEEE!)

Zone of the Enders should be a shmup in 2D realms.

Edit: Saturn you say? On PSP? *hopes and prays for a Radiant Silvergun port*
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Jesus' BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS:

2. Merciful Peacemaker
3. Suffer for Righteous Desire

I think it would make more sense to have had Salamander on it instead of Parodius as an "extra" game. Maybe they will make PSP Sally and Parodius collections.

Eesh. First G&G, and now this.

...but I won't buy a PSP. I REFUSE!! It's a matter of principle: As I already own a GC, a PS2 and an XBox, and have faithfully consumed practically every game ever released for these platforms which wasn't god awful, I think I deserve some consideration. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BUY YOUR STINKY HANDHELD!!

Besides, I've been kinda tapped since I bought that DS.

Man, they have kind of sucked for me the last couple of years. I never order from them anymore, just Play-Asia and NCSX and the occasional ebay item. They sent me a bootleg version of Super Robot Wars OG for the GBA once. After that, just a lackluster stock selection made me move away from them.

Dylan1CC, why must you torture me with these hypothetical collections?

Then again, as long as we put the thought out there into the collective unconscious, the chances of it actually happening increase I suppose...

Why must I torture myself? Konami doesn't seem to even remember Parodius or Twinbee anymore. :(

Oh wellz, I still have my Sat Twinbee DX pack which rocks even without TATE.

So has anyone got their hands on this yet?

Looking for confirmation on a firmware upgrade requirement, to what firmware version, and if a psp version changer is enough to get around this.

Any info appreciated!
