Sapphire PCE and Radiant auctions, eat yer heart out....

.....cuz according to this maroon, a sealed Border Down is the new kid in town.

(and yes, I know Sapphire is more expensive than both, just rough price comparison)

At that rate, g-rev might as well reissue border down. The cost of the actual manufacturing is VERY SMALL compared to what they spent on production. Hell, I COULD AFFORD to reissue Border Down!

I'm not surprised. I sold a sealed Border Down LE without the Sega Direct mousepad and case for $160 a few months ago. It can't have gone down in "value".

I love ebay :)

I love the game but hate the soundtrack.
I can't imagine why anyone would pay that much cash for the extra soundtrack and...MOUSEPAD? Yeesh.
Sure, the game is sealed...but come on.

I don't think Border Down has quite reached this kind of legendary status yet.

+1

I originally had the LE for myself but the soundtrack was so lame (when not actually playing the game) I sold it for profit and opened up a regular one to keep.

Yea...can you imagine people listening to that in their car or whatever?
Great game, but that jazzy pop stuff doesn't do anything for me.

I saw a sealed Border Down LE in Japan on sale for more than $100, so it must be pretty rare.

"In demand" is way better than "rare" when describing something that is ePay expensive yet you know that more than 5,000 of them exist.

Does a game's production run have to be under 5,000 to make it rare?

Yes. Clearly. If there's 5,000 of something, how rare is that? Assuming you're talking about real life rare. Ebay RARE!!! can be 150,000 no problem.

I'd say under 10,000. Taromaru, Blast Wind, Crows, Hyper Duel, etc. are all rare, but they have more than 5000 copies floating around out there.

They're "rare" because you can't easily find them at EB in Alabama? Y'all gotta get out more.

Isn't the definition of rare something that isn't common?

I would say live chickens around where I live are rare, but there are about 50 billion of them in the world.

Then they're not rare. You've just made a pointless point. If you want to go into silly miniscule semantics based BS, then English people are rare. There isn't a single one living on my street.

I had an official Nintendo NES test station once. It was only for officially licensed Nintendo repair technicians. There's probably 500 or less in existence so that might be barely almost rare.

A real Van Gogh is rare.

That's my point - the definition of rare is something that is not common.

And as with all life, it's relative.

I am somewhat saddened by the fact that my LE copy somehow got moisture inside the jewel case and distorted the shapes of both the manual and the jacket for the OST. To this day, I still don't know how that happened.

Yes... because I can't find import games that appear once every blue moon on Ebay in EB... they must be rare.

Almost any collector would agree that, within the realm of VIDEO GAME COLLECTING, games with pressings less than 10,000 are "rare". PDSaga is "uncommon" because it had a 30,000 pressing. Radiant Silvergun is just in high demand because it had a 50,000+ pressing. Taromaru and Blast Wind are rare, because you don't see them for sale that often, unless you're walking around Akibahara or shopping on yahoo.jp.
