Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
picked up a dell U2715H to replace a BENQ GW2750 that was killing my eyes.
1440p, no pwm, 5ms reponse, low input lag, no ghosting, minimal overshooting, accurate colors.
very happy, particularly at the measly $350 I picked it up for.

I finally got a PS3. Managed to get one off eBay for £50, which I thought was pretty good. So far though, it's really annoying to use compared to either the ps4 or the Xbox 360. And game downloads and installs take absolutely forever.

Nice watches! I've been hitting the casio pretty hard lately, doing some tinted LCD mods and special ordering replacement parts for mixing and matching.
here's one of my creations:

Oh, do you understand how is MIND BLOWING to see people who are into modulars on TEH VIDYAGAEMZ forum? No offense, but hope u understand what i mean.
STILL, well, it's SHMUP place here, so i should not be surprised... Also considering how we have people here with their rare PCB collections and what so.
Funny thing, when i check videogame thread at MuffWigglers, i don't see stg/fgt/other arcade crowd there. Everyone is busy with bleep-blop so they only have time for AAA releases of nowodays to relax.
Joke about "synth = supergun" is cool. I really think we can compare that "modulars are like arcades, while consoles are like compact synths".

I am stoked you dig it , music stuff is super fun !
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)

Bought this for myself as a Christmas present. I'm not a musical person, but I thought it fun to be able to play out a tune every now and then. I can somewhat do the Mario theme already.

To replace my old, water-damaged keyboard, I decided to go with the best, or at least the most traditional one: an Unicomp Ultra Classic ($84). This baby is a joy to use, it feels and sounds like using an old electric typewriter. Seriously, if you don't have a mechanical keyboard, your computer is not complete.

Also, a Logitech Trackman trackball ($20) because my old one is starting to act up. I also highly recommend that over a regular mouse because it's so comfy.

And a GE 37630 video switch. 4 ports, all with S-Video.

I also have a Unicomp buckling-spring keyboard. Mushy modern keyboards just aren't the same. Sure beats dumpster diving for old unappreciated IBM keyboards.Stormwatch wrote:

Though if you're spoiling yourself, might I suggest you upgrade from that Logitech marble mouse to:

The Kensington Expert mouse. The bigger trackball equals better comfort and precision, that ring around the ball gives scroll-wheel functionality.

I considered getting a Kensington, but they're quite expensive and my budget was tight enough.

NTSCJ Mischief Makers, nice! I finally picked one up last summer, shortly after Bangaioh N64... they seemed a lot harder to find CIB than Sin & Punishment, that one pops up everywhere. I guess Nintendo publishing the latter explains it. S&P's easily the one I'd keep if forced to choose, though!

Couple new PCEZ for my SOOPA CD: a sterling port and a rock-hard original.

That's the second time I've caught Hudson Bee shamelessly ogling a fine animu honey! He really liek dat butt!

Speaking of rock-hard, here is a standard-issue Irem penor-ship to restore balance. Strike deeply indeed, OF-1!

Snagged the Sega Simulation Soundtrack Compilation CD (includes The Hybrid Front, Super Daisenryaku and Advanced Daisenryaku). Gotta love that CD design:

Also picked up a copy of Sakura Taisen on Saturn for cheap.

I have never played Tyranid Attack but I am told that it is a cut down version of Space-Hulk.caincan wrote:nearly the least i wished on vintage Games workshop stuff. recovered about ~17 different boardgames from era 1986-1993.
I have lots of Space-Hulk, Space-Crusade, and Space-Crusade: Advanced. Not played the Advanced game as yet though.

Excellent choice, definitely one of my favorites on Super CD! Once you discover how to crush bosses by suiciding your extra weapons, it'll go from rock hard to merely PC-Super-CD-jewel-case-plastic hard though. (So still pretty hard but not as much as it's been made out to be.BIL wrote:

Will the industry ever get tired of refurbishing PS2 library?

I'm gonna try converting Gradius V to bootable DVD, the way I succeeded in convereting Tokyo Road Race.
What's with Capcom PAL PS2 covers typically rocking so much harder than NTSC US/C ones, even when differences are pretty cosmetical?
P.S. Confirmed - Gradius V does load off a properly built DVD.

After all these years, I finally got a supergun setup. AV7000 running to a 21" PVM monitor, and it's beeeautiful! Hooked up to an 80watt Onkyo stereo system with an 8" powered sub-woofer under the desk. Bollocks-rattling bass.

The AV7000 is a great piece of kit... never thought about running it through a stereo before now for some reason.... I wonder...
