Started taking shmups seriously, got my first handful of (relatively easy) clears, realised scoring is pretty cool

Expecting too much of myself too soon, getting frustrated that I can't play as well as people who have been playing for years

I liked guesting on STGW again, with Aquas, Softdrink, trap and the star of the ep T4N3. ^__^

tbh I've been doing far more previewing and collecting than proper gaming for the last couple years (all stuff, not just STG). Ideally will dial back on that a bit this year, I've gotta start playing stuff before my pecker shrivels up and I'm left forever bald. I will always enjoy posting stuff what I wrote on our lovely forum though! :3

Started from scratch with Garegga and got up to a B.75 by October. Still have more improvement to do, but I feel OK about the ground I've covered so far.

Ruining too many great Garegga runs in stage 6.

Goals for 2016:
Due to real-world stuff, opportunities for play are going to be relatively few and far between in 2016 so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get done. In any case, here's what I would like to do:
- Get a D score in Garegga and clear it.
- Start learning DOJBL and get proficient enough to chain most of the first loop.

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2015: IN finalA LNB... basically the only thing I did this year

Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2015: Losing all those runs because of 5-miss stage 5 or similar

Favorite Achievements by Others of 2015: Hard to say, there were so many great things done this year, but I think emotionally my favourite was probably everlastings SA LNN because we're good friends and I know how much he was struggling for it.
There is also one run that I think actually stands above all the others great things done this year, which is yusukes 3.64b in PCB, claiming overall WR with an inferior shottype.

Goals for 2015: Get better... I can't really estimate what score I should reach within one year, maybe something like 4.5b finalA with Scarlet Team

Playing too much memorizers and getting progressively worse at danmaku games.
Not finding any game I enjoy scoring.

Maybe that DonPachi counterstop too.

Goals for 2016:
Clear another Psikyo game or two (Sengoku Blade looks awesome), and/or improve my S99 score.
MoF LNB.
Play games outside my comfort zone.

Personal Favourite Achievements of 2015: Getting to 2-7 In Gradius iv, Almost no missing Esprade (one stupid hit near garras last form), Clearing satazius insane, Reaching 2-4 in ketsui.

Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2015:
Dropping a game long chain in Guwange blue label stupidly right before the baby denying me breaking 30 mill (got 29 something).

BOS dragon blaze run at stunfest, Aquas super exciting batrider run also at stunfest, Donpachi counter stop, Mrmonkeymans newest Ketsui PB, to many to mention tbh.

Goals for 2016:
2 Loop clear for Gradius iv and gaiden. Getting back into psikyo games starting with re learning and clearing both loops of strikers 99.

Plans are always hard for me to follow, and not finishing them make me feel bad. Just list some things that I would like to do.

Didn't play much shmups or many games at all for the second half of the year

Would like to get a 1CC on DOJ
Clear all routes on DBAC with the EX routes, with good scores on all
Clear all routes on Darius 2 and G Darius (if only!)

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2015:
Strikers 1945 II 2-ALL. This was a pretty big leap for me and took over 4 months to accomplish and just barely finished it before the end of the year. It's especially dear to me as this was one of the first games I ever played in MAME back in the day when I was rediscovering arcade games. I wish I could go back it time and tell my credit feeder past how these games should really be played.

Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2015:
Failing to beat the PS1 version of Strikers 1945 II and I guess just playing it in general. Seriously, this game nearly put me off to ever playing a console port of an arcade game ever again. Why in the fuck would you change the size of the player ship's hitbox? And the different planes even have different hitboxes, what the fuck? Of all the changes to make to a port this is probably the worst one that could be made, especially when everything else is virtually spot on.

Favorite Achievements by Others of 2015:
Perikles smacking down the Gradius games, R-Type 1 & 2 2-ALL, and just his general contributions to the forum are very impressive and extremely useful. His 1cc output rate is also astounding.

Goals for 2016:
Mix up playing more arcade stuff vs console games. Also probably going to intersperse playing "easier" games at the same time I'm working on longer term, harder goals. Completing only 1 game in the last 4 months is kind of depressing.

Personal Favourite Achievements of 2015: Yeah, don't think I need to say much here! But I was really happy to 2ALL the game again on twitch literally the day before I moved, especially since I didn't get to view the full ending the first time since the JAMMA connector came loose moments after beating the game. Guess I could put that part in the Personal Biggest Screw-ups pile, next time double check the connections!

Favourite Achievements by Others of 2015: Loads here, some BIG 2ALLs, 1CC's and scores, most have already been posted above! Lots more for me to watch too, thanks for those who posted links! But the two that I really enjoyed were fufufu's live DOJWL run and whoever hoge_master is on youtube, that was an incredible Progear run. 300+ million, dear lord...

Goals for 2016: I'd definitely like to get a higher score in Progear, plus I have loads of room for improvement on my line and dealing with the bosses, especially on 2-3, 2-4 and 2-5. Then I'd like to start sinking my teeth into a different game, dunno which one yet.

Shoot... not much STG related :/ Only thing remotely close is that I finally started developing a shooting game that actually is likely to get finished, I guess.

Getting burnt out on really everything after Stunfest. I haven't really been playing anything remotely challenging since then and I find myself getting burnt out on games more quickly now. I hope it ends soon enough...

Fulfilling most of the goals I set last year.
- 27 Mil in Ikaruga. First time I'd put that much effort into scoring and it was rewarding while momentum lasted.
- Metal slug 3 1cc.
- Clearing Strikers '45 in STGT, after giving up in 2014.

Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2015:
- Not carrying on with Ikaruga. But when you're burnt, you're burnt.
-Hardly played Ketsui at all

- Jonst beating my Progear challenge
- The waifu warrior's exploits inside of STGT and out
- Such as Squire's Cho Ren Sha stuff was 2015 i think, and Eaglet taking western records in Garegga
