Hello all,
I have a gbs-8220. I have it connected to a pc from the late 90's that is outputting what I think is atleast a 320x200 signal(ex: heretic). I have no proof of this because all of my monitors interpret this signal as a 720x400. Anyways, the gbs unit just displays one frame and it is not centered on the screen. Part of the top of the screen appears at the bottom.
So, does this sound like a bad unit or have I just not got the right kind of converter for what I want to do?
Thanks in advance.
Am I misusing my gbs-8220?

Your PC does definitely output a 31khz signal (400p70 to be precise), so unless your target display can't handle this kind of signal, you don't need an upscaler like the GBS.

It is actually for recording and my recorder only supports the typical modern resolutions. Essentially 640x480 and up.

If you want a proper solution a Gefen VGA to DVI Scaler Plus would be a good pick. Sometimes quite cheap to have.
