Is the HD Remix based on the PS1 version? I thought it was a standalone new version.Strider77 wrote:No, the PS1 version looks the part but there are some game play imperfections if you are a purist. Saturn version has a little slowdown on a stage or 2.

IIRC it's based on the Dreamcast version.FBX wrote:Is the HD Remix based on the PS1 version? I thought it was a standalone new version.

And the hd remix also has an option to display with old school original graphics.donluca wrote:IIRC it's based on the Dreamcast version.FBX wrote:Is the HD Remix based on the PS1 version? I thought it was a standalone new version.

Partially true, unfortunately you're stuck with the redrawn high res backgrounds.D wrote:And the hd remix also has an option to display with old school original graphics.

It looks terrible.... HD remix looks a mess both ways in my opinion.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Thanks for the suggestion but that version doesn't interest meFBX wrote:There's also the "HD Remix" for the PS3 and xbox. Or is it not quite what you're looking for?

I disagree to a large degree. But that's not the point of this thread.Strider77 wrote:It looks terrible.... HD remix looks a mess both ways in my opinion.

Most agree it looks horrible.... those cheap ass backgrounds. We can derail a bit, it's within the margins.
Fugly....

And it comes with the magical bonus of
"The Xbox360 version has 1.5-2.5 added frames of input delay over the arcade version, with the PS3 version having additional 3.5 frames of input delay."

Why not get the Pandora box 3? CPS2 plays more or less great on it.

Re: Super Street Fighter II X/Turbo in 240p
My takeaway so far
Mame/Fightcade : Great way to play this. I haven't noticed much input lag on my crt monitor. the game runs very well and scanline presets make it look as awesome as it should.
Dreamcast : I can't imagine a console port being better than this. Zero load time and I haven't noticed any slowdown. There's even a dipswitch setting to tweak the rules and make it just like the arcade version of your choice.
Of course the raster is narrower than the arcade, so the backgrounds are less detailed here, as Fudoh pointed out. Also : not in 240p, but add a scanline generator and it should look great.

It looks pretty close with the scanlines. I play it this way. The DC version that is.
