But they also released a SDOJ-themed iPhone game that everyone seems to love. So... Yeah.
Maybe that will be the 3rd game.

I should get some of those game instead of waiting for Futari and Fukkatsu like a hopless douche.

It would've been the season to announce it, but remember the beta test port for Deathsmiles won't be out until Spring at the earliest.

Pardon me, the final build of Deathsmiles. I misspoke.

I think after DS, SDOJ is the likeliest candidate for the next port (maybe late summer?) followed by Futari in the Winter if sales go well.

I don't want to continue to be negative, I think it's nice that Cave can get some revenue and expose their catalog to a wider audience, but I can't say this is an ideal situation. Feels less like Cave setting out for new shores and more like scooping buckets of water out of a sinking ship. For me, I'll be happy when they announce a new game for PC, like Crimzon Clover, or even just a good port of Ibara.

Ew, the only Cave title I have absolutely no interest at all to play. Understandable pick though.

The good news is that this will be the best horizontal shooter you can play on a PC. The bad news is that everyone's already played it. Hopefully they fix the things that sucked about the 360 port to give people a reason to buy this.

It was either going to be Deathsmiles or Daifukkatsu, tbh.

I fear the Mega Black Label mode will be only available as DLC like in the japanese Xbox 360 release, while all modes were already included in the NA/EU releases. :?

So much this.

Why do they pick the worst game they've ever made. Why cave. If MBL is included then that's the only positive.

Worse than Princess Debut? Now, now.
Yes, it's not what everyone/anyone wanted, but let's not bash on the game just because.

Not even counting emulation, Battle Traverse and Darius Burst are much better than this.

Personally, I couldn't be less interested.
Business/release-wise, I agree with this choice.

You know what's damn weird?

I was pretty much the only guy, bar maybe one other, who was saying Deathsmiles wasn't up to much shortly after its release for like, years. And for all those years of saying it was lacking and mediocre in comparison to other Cave works, I didn't get much support.

Fast forward to 2015 and every mofo and his dog is suddenly in agreement. :|

I meant the worst they released on arcade hardware. I would have deathsmiles II over this.

I've always hated on deathsmiles but I waited to be vocal about it until I had actually played it. I never got to play it until I think the port came out in Japan and lots of people were selling their pcbs off.

The lolis and such suck but if there was an amazing game under that then I would still have said it was good. I'm not fond of flying Transgender fairies around but espgaluda is an amazing game so I'll never hate on it.

I love deathsmiles and I love steam. This is all good news to me. Steam is DRM done right.
Was hoping for a double pack but hopefully the second one will come later.

Deathsmiles is awesome, especially with the extra modes/levels from MBL.

The downside is that the scoring system is very all or nothing and getting consistent meter refills is kind of frustrating, for me anyway.

Japan stealing my thunder with their early timezones xD. In any case, the next PC port is indeed the gothic horror shooter Deathsmiles!

It includes MBL and we expect it Spring 2016.

I understand that it's already widely available on X360, so we've been discussing a few ideas to make the PC port a little bit more special and unique compared to the previous versions. Please share your feedback/ideas concerning this.

Will the 1.1 modes be available? I quite liked those. Make sure you can still make the graphics freak out by playing really well :3

There are 6 modes: Normal, 1.1, and MBL, with "Arcade" variants for each of these (which present the modes in the original SD resolution, are there other changes beyond that?).

If you could ask them if they'd make it a Deathsmiles collection where it also had DS2 with a new tweaked gameplay mode, that would be interesting. They might not like the idea of bundling sequels I guess.

The most important things, IMO, would be to make sure the slowdown for all modes is arcade-accurate (or as close as you can reasonably get), and that the goofy accent-heavy translation from the US release is dropped (or at least made optional, if you feel like a laugh).
There are 6 modes: Normal, 1.1, and MBL, with "Arcade" variants for each of these (which present the modes in the original SD resolution, are there other changes beyond that?).
In the 360 port, "Arcade" mode would, like the original arcade game, eventually lock you out of the lower difficulty selections, while "360" mode let you select any difficulty all the way through. I believe the slowdown was different between the two as well, which could cause problems on the scoreboards if left unaddressed.

Hmm, was it 1.1 mode that gave suicide bullets right on the first stage if you selected difficulty 3 (or maybe the mbl equivilant)? I rather liked that mode, R-Type style.

Nope, as Blackbird said, already included. Though I wonder, like with First Print DLC for X360 from Mushi's 1.5 mode, will DS for the steam release include the Full Voice DLC? (I heard this only works for the normal modes and not the MBL modes. Or unless that might be impossible? Or unless anythings possible.), and if the steam release will still use (more than likely or maybe not) Aksys's accent for characters translation >.> (I heard people said the PAL release doesn't have the accent translation, and kept it faithful for the characters, but I don't see it, and would like to see proof, but more than likely, I'm guessing their release also has the accents anyways. >.>).

Either way, I've already have both DS's on the 360, so I'll rather wait on it anyways, but since I got Mushi day one, yeah, I'm much pro-cave to get it rather than not (eventually). And yes, would have been nice if it was DS2 instead (It was Christmas, it would have been the perfect time), it really needed an English translation, but oh well, maybe next time.

Otherwise, I know, as usual, it will have the launch discount, but what about the OST, will it be included, and if it will (if possible), will it be the OST or the AST that came with the US 360 LE release, or maybe both? X3

Both modes will give out suicide bullets the moment you select LV. 3 on a stage or if you dangerously prefer, LV.999 on MBL. (Except on the Gorge/Ice Palace which will shoot them out regardless.)

The OST will be available, and will likely follow our usual format of being optional content and including lossless audio (if it's available to us).

Yes, lol, but yeah, if anything more, contentwise, comes up, let us know. Since I guess its too early to tell what would be included or can be included.

I dunno, blackbird, is a completely new arrange/revised mode (something like 1.5?) by Thirsty Ikeda completely out of the question?

That, or if possible of bringing the SmartPhone Mode over (since it has Tiara has a playable character), but I'm guessing its just a port over the 360 ver., so...>.>
