A fun article to read, but I was hoping for a bit more discussion of xevious in it. I did make me want to read Xevious – A Walkthrough for Ten Million Points(I think that it isn't translated though), and it'll probably inspire me to put in Xevious 3d/g+ into my ps2 and play some of the arcade port tonight.

Wow what an exceptional article!

Sadly Xevious is one game I've never been able to get into.
I'm not a graphics snob but this particular game was very bland visually and I feel the narrative mentioned in the article was lost in a sea of green, dark green, brown, blue and grey.

The whole series is this way for me unfortunately.

I greatly appreciate the work that went into it now though. :D
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Academic texts tend to make me glaze over, but surprise surprise, I can suddenly pay attention when it's about Xevious.

Thanks for the link, F-man!

I remember playing the FC version, and yes I feel same with you.

That's why the "definitive" version ( Rayforce, if you want know ) is exist with exciting gameplay, graphics, and musics.
