Shark Attack

Post by The Coop »

So a new shmup's been out for a bit. One with a... twist.

Take a bit of Trouble Shooter, add a dash of Insector-X, put in shark girls in tight outfits with C-cup (at least) chests, mix in some retro-styled music, grab a little inspiration from the manic shmup world, and here you go. There's a one level demo of it you can try, and doesn't seem too bad. It's no Tecno Soft or Raizing quality shmup to be sure, but I've played a lot worse from the homebrew shmup world. Here's the website...

Anyone else tried it or own the full version? If so, thoughts?

Edit: Updated the link.

I'm not opposed to shark girls or anything, but I could drink an entire bar and that'd still be ugly. There doesn't seem to be anything on the gameplay front either. Oh yeah, "retro" points: Sine wave bullet "patterns" and lazy homing lasers, "chiptune" bleepers that would sound stale on the C64 in 1984. Also, where's the hitbox? Man, I feel at home already! I don't think you really have to invite this one home to smell how rotten she is.

A shmup from furries for furries (also sold to anthrocon and that says a lot). Wow. That's something new for me.

I honestly don't remember this, so maybe I did my worst and drained every bottle of Tanqueray and Gordon's in the place shortly after this topic. Dime-a-dozen furry art. Not bad, just doesn't aim very high.

Y'all know this is made by shmups forum regular Renard Queenston, right =P? It's a pretty decent effort for a 1-man show.

That only makes me more puzzled why it would have design decisions it does. Forum's about hard drinkin' and tough love, anyway.

Soooo...has anyone played it? Is it good? Is it crap?

It's weird that this video about a game nobody played has much more dislikes than likes.

No one's played it because no one can find it

The original website's gone, and while I know for a fact that I saw the game downloadable for free (the guy released it as such), I can't even find that anymore. I did find the link on that Mega site where you can download the final version of the game, but I don't think I can post it here without also finding where it was said that the game's free now.
