Dazed and confused about my 20m2mdu.

Post by Zaid »

So I just recently purchased a 20m2mdu and after doing alot of reading on the forum on what to buy and where to buy I belive Ive come out more confused than where I began lol. Heres the run down so far. I want to hook up my SNES and Genesis and probably Saturn later down the line, I do own a n64 but its not RGB modded and still on the fence on whether I want to do it or not, but anyways to get to the point from what Ive read Ill need to come out of my systems with scart and then to a scart to BNC correct? Its also been said here the best place to get these cables are from http://retrorgb.com, now I see there over seas are there any US sellers by any chance, if not ill definitely go with retrorgb. The other thing thats confusing me is they offer some choices on the cables 1st is 2 versions one is cheaper and the other is more expensive due to the shielding is the one with the shielding better than the cheaper one? The other question is do I choose Euroscart or JP21? And finally what version of sync do I choose?
Thanks in advance.

Retro Console Accessories on ebay sells scart cables for many consoles.

They are here in the us and have good service.

Also you can get a scart to bnc cable from a member here on shmups who sells them. I couldnt find the relevant thread about it when i searched but mabeye someone else can point you to it.

unless you have another reason not to go with it, most people go with euroscart.

The x-rgb-3 uses JP21 so if you own one of those you might want to go with jp21.

just make sure you pick one or the other and stick to it for all your cables so you dont get confused.

I used sheilded Csync cables for everything except the few consoles i own that dont support csync. in those cases i went with a sync on luma cable. I have no artifacts or interference.

Awesome thanks just checked them out, and there in florida where Iam at, double win!! Sucks there not taking orders till the 21st :( So euroscart is the way to go gotcha. Yeah Ill have to dig around for his name. Dont own a XRGB so not a problem there. Hmmm Iam looking at there genesis cord and looks like it has Raw sync any difference with that? Again thanks a ton!
