Viewsonic P220f CRT monitor help!

Post by クリスチャン »

So I got this Viewsonic P220f CRT monitor (Diamondtron!) from craigslist for free but I'm having some issues.

When I first got it I had to increase the SCREEN pot slightly on the flyback to get proper brightness and after that I noticed the color blue was getting crushed to black in the last few levels which made dark colors look really off. I figured I just needed to adjust blue gain/cut and I'd be good to go. Problem is I can't find the controls for RGB on this thing, I looked on the neck board and didn't find any pots and also looked on the mainboard. According to the service manual for a very similar monitor (just slightly different mainboard) I need to enter the service menu to adjust color but the process it describes to get in doesn't work (press and hold the "2" button for at least four seconds while turning on monitor).

So I really need some help figuring out how to get in the service menu to adjust blue gain/cut. It's an absolutely amazing monitor but the colors are really off.

Any help appreciated!

I have a Diamondtron monitor (from LaCie) but I haven't tried to enter the service menu yet. Let us know if you discover anything.
