I was able to buy a PVM-20M4E for a few Euros.
But the CRT has the problem of horizintal lines:

After searching for similar problems it seems that bad caps are the problem.
Any chance location the caps a little bit more precise on one of the many boards in the CRT?

Re: PVM-20M4E: Horizontal RGB Lines
It's only one cap which has a wrong value.
Sony itself recognized the error and told which one was the culprit and the correct value.
I once had a link saved which told me which capacitor was and the correct value but I can't find it anymore
EDIT: ok, the original thread isn't online anymore, but luckily there was one user who remembered it: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 1#p1135021
You have to replace the capactior C584 which is a 2.2uF with a high ripple 1uF one.

Re: PVM-20M4E: Horizontal RGB Lines
Thx, great news. So I don't have to replace all of the caps
What does high ripple actualy meen? I found a cap with a ripple current of 36mA, is that high enought:

Any other Caps that are recommend to replace?

May I ask again. Talking about high ripple current.
Is a ripple current of 36mA enought?

That's a good one, can't go wrong with panasonic. Also bear in mind that for caps that small you'll never attain big ripple currents, so that's ok.

Re: PVM-20M4E: Horizontal RGB Lines
Today I was able to desolder the Cap.
Measuring the Cap with my China ESR shows that the 2.2uF has only about 0.3uF and 30Ohm ESR.
So the Cap is for sure broken.

Nice, thats a good sign that replacing that cap will fix the issue.

After replacing C584 and C572, C588, C590, C592 everthing is fine again.
Thx for the support.
