Meanwhile, in the "progressive", feminist world we currently live in, sexual mores have been thrown out the window and women are free to expose themselves in any which way they want. This, as we were told, was supposed to "liberate" women from oppressive, patriarchal standards of propriety and decency. At least, that was the rhetoric during the sexual revolution, meaning that what we have now is precisely what feminists actually wanted.

Burkas and strict sexual honor codes aren't in any way opposed to objectification IMO. The whole point of a burka is that nobody gets to see a woman (even her face) except her husband. She completely belongs to him and even a glance at her face is off limits to everyone else. The husband's paranoia that anyone else should even look at her completely trumps her own personal liberty to wear what she wants. You could argue the same about less extreme sexual mores: it's all about the man owning/controlling the woman.

I see what's going on here! You're operating under a different definition of "sex object" than the rest of us. The term "object" here doesn't mean object of desire, it's meant in a dehumanizing context. A man who views women as sex object isn't just a man who wants to sleep with them, he sees them as chattel whose only purposes are to provide him with sexual pleasure and to bear children.

A woman who expresses her sexuality of her own volition and in the process turns you on is not a sex object. She's a sexual being. And the the invention of the pill was not a "so-called" revolution, it most certainly was an actual revolution because women were finally given the tools they needed to be able to enjoy their sexuality as freely as men.

Ever notice how in all the Marvel movies, when it's time for some skin...it's a guy? I mean, if I had the attitude of feminists, I would be like "Captain America and Starlord's bodies are making me feel inadequate". Seriously, they are in amazing shape (no homo).
