Yes - it's more likely than you may think! In my researchings, Gun.Smoke baddies' liking of dat butt produces the most explosive, incendiary forum rages of any STG zako. ¦3 The resulting hot and spicy fumes seem to short-circuit a rational response - I hope OLD_MILLS didn't put his renowned fist through any innocent screens as a result! :O

haha, the guy even used the "these are facts sir, not mere uncouth opinions" line of attack.

Surprisingly it doesn't convince when you're too dumb/raging to see what the truth is!

Well, the rest of the file is the smallpox virus turned into a VHS tape somebody downloaded to the Stormfront forums, which was then seasoned with submarine tears, and made into a COMPUTAR SKULLVIRIS. Boo!

But yeah it's just some inane Halloween-themed joke for recest, I'm sure.

Recognising that my friend and student who went from speaking absolutely no English 1.5 years ago is now nigh-on fluent and having regular conversations with me.

I've helped a lot of foreign people improve their English, but I'm really proud of this one, it's amazing.

Seeing all the large individual displays in your parliament it's almost believable they actually played it out in some online battle.

Has your Mandarin/Cantonese improved? I remember you were working on it and what were you using again? I've been told rosetta stone is garbage nowadays I should have tried to learn Mandarin when I was in college so I could finally understand what they were saying in old Kung fu movies instead of relying totally on sub titles.

Yes, it's improved a lot, or so I'm told. I can have very basic conversations, but as soon as it gets too detailed I lose the thread. I know how to survive a lot better and can sort of cobble together questions from what I know. Some of it's probably wrong, but enough of it is right that they know what I'm talking about. And my tones are only marginally better, I don't push that too much. But I'm far from even what I would even say is intermediate because the language is so broad and flexible in its use, and I can't read or write. As they would say in Chinese however, "slow slow speak" (take your time, basically).

I think those old Kung Fu movies would have been cantonese, unless you were watching mandarin dubs.

I haven't looked at Rosetta Stone in well over a year, everything I know has just been assimilated. It would be interesting to revisit my lessons where I left off and see how much I actually know of it.

Finally got the print copies of the book myself and my friend self-published. It's about female street artists and graffiti writers from around the world. This is the first book I've ever made and it feels pretty good to hold the real thing in my hands!

Congrats man, now our little conversation about publishing makes a lot more sense!
I'll certainly have questions for you.

So I saw an azn woman on the train today stood there playing some danmaku shit on her phone. Lots of flashies, looked visually exciting. I was surprised to see another commuter who could be into this stuff.
We were both walking from the train down to the underground, and she kept playing. walking along totally engrossed.
Yeah that made me smile alright.

In China there is a hugely popular shmup by Tencent called Thunder Raid, that runs in We Chat (like Whatsapp) which is the most used messaging app in China - and only on the Chinese version. It was most likely that you saw, but don't be deceived! I played it and thought it was fairly cool initially until I realised that you need to keep playing it endlessly to accrue coins that can also be purchased to upgrade your ship. With the ship underpowered you just can't push past a certain point and need to play the same initial stages like crazy (hundreds of times) to even think about an upgrade. Most Chinese people actually do this, but for me it was horribly boring so I dumped it. All the highest scorers either played every spare minute of the day for years to get a badass ship, or just bought it.

There is a level of skill, but it's all overshadowed by thinly veiled nickel and diming.

Interesting fact, the gaming term for shmup in China is "Shoot the Plane", which is also a widely used euphemism for masturbation. So shmupping and wanking are referred to the same way, and often to comedy effect when people ask me what games I'm into...
