Finally got to 1CC Mushihimesama Novice Maniac mode and, despite making it, it was a terrible run, I've died in stupid spots. I really want to make a deathless run soon.

I'll probably do regular Maniac after this and then go into Novice Ultra. I already had a few runs in Novice Ultra and I'm really loving it.

It looks like ultra is really stingy on resources (mostly because of tlb it seems). Possibly comparable to doj in that regard I guess. Based on this alone I guess it would fall into the harder category cave survival clear above most of their games. Probably only below a few cave games/modes.
Also that dodging on stage-3 looked quite risky.

Also I don't remember original being easy at all. I didn't clear it (just made to stage-4 two or three times probably), and I remember the game really picking up after first two stages. It was a very long time ago though. But I still had a reasonable number of clears back then. Possibly it could be that it felt harder because of display problems with ps2 port.

Cleared the SFC Gokujyou Parodius minutes ago.



Made it to special stage and lost my lives here (probably I'm using Vic Viper). The game is not too hard, though you can clear it until special stage with practice around 3-4 times.

meanwhile, I've finally cleared fast striker (yeeeah!) this was driving me mad, as its not too hard but the final boss has some annoying patterns. This was very similar to espgaluda to me in that the game is easy until the final boss…

On novice setting. . Slowly getting there though. Got to the fifth stage in Arange. Might be able to beat the stage boss as well, but the last true boss is insane. The spike in difficult is very abrupt there.

I've been finally dipping my toes back into shmups a bit, but have been putting off posting for a bit. However, I did finally finish rRootage GW mode through level 7 (ABC and R). As good of a reason as any to post, I guess.

On the plus side I'm reaching stage 4 more and more without missing, which in turn has made stage 4 easier. I played a few credits this morning over the course of an hour. After a few quick restarts I got deep into stage 5 and the following credit almost got me the clear.

Yeah, finally! Thanks man! It took a bit longer because I didn't go full shmup on it, I took long breaks of a couple of days between sessions and some of those scores are from years ago! I'm glad to get it out the way. Really fun game.

Nice one. What character did you use, Dead Liar? Did you get the TLB? (By TLB I'm referring to filling up the satisfaction bar on the stage 8 boss to level 3 and filling up the bar on the boss after that. If you didn't, you really should try going for it, as it's a one-of-a-kind experience.)

Reached Larsa with three bombs and an one extra ship. Wound up getting all the way to the very end of her two handed pattern before dying with no bombs left. I had three bombs as her tail pattern started and ain't gonna lie - I bomb spammed the fuck outta that thing.

I would have had this one months ago if I didn't have fucking STG ADD:D
