not sure. Let us know! The function is made for 16:9 displays of course, since the PSP's resolution is about 16:9. I don't know if you achieve a proper AR on your CRT.
Just a follow up on this : aspect ratio of the PSP is intact!
Just had to tune some settings on the XRGB-3 :
had to set the AR to 16:9 in "Screen" menu. Also in there is the Vertical Width setting that can be tweaked, if some tweaking is indeed needed. Then under "Option" I went to resolution and chose the largest supported by my display, wich is 1280X1024. And voilà! There's a little unused space on the side, but not
too much.
EDIT : other XRGB-3 resolutions are supported by the monitor in progressive scan. 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080
the first too have a bit of unused space on the side of the screen just like 1280x1024, but they're strecthed vertically. I need to use Vertical Width control on the XRGB to correct these.
1920x1080 is a bit wider than the screen, so bits are cut off at both ends. But it's actually nice to have a bigger picture than in the other modes, I don't mind losing a little bit of image on the sides.
Can't say for now if these give a sharper picture than 1280x1024 (I mean we have a pretty low res raster (PSP's)to work with in the first place, so just how much can it be upscaled without losing detail?). I'll have to take pics and compare. I'll throw in 640X480 too, as it might be just as sharp.
