Looked around for a recent topic on this and didn't find one, though I'm sure the question has been asked before plenty of times.
Since I can't afford marqs' scandoubler right now I need a cheap(ish) component to HDMI or DVI converter.
I have the usual run of questions RE converters:
1) Do they add a significant amount of lag?
2) Are there any that support YPbPr and RGsB? They're essentially the same thing but I'd imagine there could potentially be colorspace conversion issues.
3) Are there RGB range mis-match issues? My current Audio Authority switch offers a conversion from component to DVI but after testing it seems to be limited range RGB only with tons of black crush, and has no settings to change it.
Does anybody have any recommendations?

Re: Component to HDMI/DVI converter
Just to be clear: we're talking about converters for 480p and other progressive inputs, so pure A/D conversion, right ? Everything else falls into the category video processor.
No lag.
No.
Limited RGB range or YCbCr is what I would expect from all component to HDMI converters. Results on my setup are stunning though. Spot on black and white levels.

Meant to mention 480p+, yeah.
I take it any $20 active box I can find on Amazon will likely do? Worth a shot at that price, might be worth flipping through my plasma's service menu again too to see if I can fix the mismatch.
Thanks Fudoh
