Media reports have stated that you can just download them. (source digitaltrends)

I'll let you know for sure Nov 12th if someone else doesn't first.

I am pretty sure the Xbone only has twin stick shooters right now. If there are any traditional horizontal or vertical shooters, they are probably crap indie releases that flew under most peoples' radars (does anyone know if any exist?).

With backwards compatibility happening on 11/12, Ikaruga and R-Type Dimensions will be playable. Here's to hoping more become compatible soon.

Don't forget Teslapunk. Good fun with a unique style and some humor too.

I hope/wish I could use an X360 controller/stick for BC X360 games. Now I have to add an XOne stick to the collection.

I was able to install and play my old xb360 R-type Dimensions on my xbone for free.

Seems laggy? Or is it the beer?

Ikatuga won't even run.

Tried out BC a bit last night. At first, nothing BC would launch, but rebooting the X1 seemed to helped. Ikaruga launched and played for me, and once I moved my game save onto the Xbox Cloud, the X1 saw it ok. I'm no pro at the game but it seemed OK on stage one (I said I was bad!). Didn't try R-Type yet, but I did play Pac-Man Championship edition +, where I experienced a lot of sound distortion, especially when you get a power pill and eat a bunch of ghosts in a row. Kind of a bummer since I really like the music in the game, but I tend to play this more on my PC anyways. Didn't experience any slowdown though.

Remembering it's an emulator, it's nice for convenience, but nothing like playing on the original system. My X360 won't be going anywhere. I'm sure the emulation will see improvements down the line as well. I wish PS4 would do their BC like this instead of their stupid PS Now service.

It was nice logging onto my X1 and seeing all the games I could download right away, even more once I start putting in discs. I already invested in one of these to add a 2TB drive to my X1, so plenty of space. Once more shmups start showing up for BC (hopefully), I'll think about adding an X1 stick, or dual-modding an existing stick.

Both games work for me without any lag.

Ikaruga seemed spot-on for me, while other B/C games had some minor issues. I still haven't tried R-Type but I will probably do that later today. I find fast-paced, 2D-style games on the Xbone to be laggy in general though (Rare Replay is a shining example). It might be a combination of factors though, including forced wireless usage. On the 360 I always use a wired controller and the 2D games feel much more responsive. Not sure if anyone else feels the same way?

Thanks. It turned out that on my TV "game mode" was turned off on that input.
