Hey guys, i'd like to get a get a dedicated monitor for Cave shooters on a Japanese Xbox360. I've read through a bunch of posts here to try and choose one, but i'm a dummy when it comes to technical video stuff. From what I read, it seems like some good ones are:
• Dell UltraSharp U2414H 23.8 inch (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H3JIGHA/ref ... VBZNE544V4)
• Dell S2715H 27-Inch LED-Lit Monitor (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M9B3S0W/ref ... 3ZW5&psc=1)
• ASUS VS278Q-P 27" (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009HNEBLK/ref ... W8RN&psc=1)
Maybe there are others that would work better?
I know input lag is something to worry about, but not sure how noticeable it'd be on a setup like this.
Thanks for any info and advice you can offer!

Re: Help me choose a vertical monitor for Xbox360 shooters?
Hoping to get some input on this... I'm not super picky about stuff, just want to get a decent tate setup going for my Cave shooters.
I currently have them hooked up to my Egret II via a Viletim's SCART-to-JAMMA setup (which works OK), but looking to get my E2 back to a dedicated PCB setup.
I'm thinking of going with the 24" Dell UltraSharp U2414H monitor. In addition, I'm considering getting a SLG3000 scan line generator going with it. How well will that work with this monitor & an J-Xbox360? I'm somewhat a novice when it comes to video settings, so I have a few questions:
1) What type of cable would be best to send video out from the Xbox360? HDMI-to-VGA cable to the SLG3000, then VGA-to-?? to the Monitor?
2) How would I get audio out of the Xbox360?
3) From what I read about the SLG3000, it likes 480i output, will the U2414H monitor have issues with that?
4) Once I get all this figured out, will the scan lines generated from the SLG3000 need to be adjusted between the different Cave games (considering they are different ports)?
Thanks in advance for any info/help you can offer, it's much appreciated!

I'm getting this for Christmas: http://www.amazon.it/liyama-PL-XB2483HS ... 2483HSU-B1
Heard great things about it and the price is not that high.

Thanks for the info! It does't look like it's easily available in the USA right now though -- I guess i'm hoping to grab something domestically.donluca wrote:I'm getting this for Christmas: http://www.amazon.it/liyama-PL-XB2483HS ... 2483HSU-B1

I use the Dell UltraSharp U2414H with my framemeister and PCBS when I don't feel like hooking shit up in my cab. Works great.

In general I would recommend the U2414H. It's a great and inexpensive display and the fact that it rotates both ways out of the box is fantastic.
To use analogue from your 360, add scanlines through a SLG3000 and convert back to HDMI is not the greatest idea though. If you really need a SLG3000 you should pick a display that has native VGA support. Or you run your 360 without external scanline support.

Ok, cool -- Thanks for the info! I guess I won't be going to scan line route w/ the 360Fudoh wrote:In general I would recommend the U2414H. It's a great and inexpensive display and the fact that it rotates both ways out of the box is fantastic.

Anyone know of any videos of any cave shooters being played on the U2414H -- curious to see it in action.
